I also grew up country, and I used to (unintentionally) upset my coworkers with tales from my childhood. Look, country kids ALL have a horrifying injury story. It's part of our culture 😅

Almost done and I'm having a great time. It's my first time reading litrpg and that took some getting used to, but not much. The writing style reminds me a lot of early Dresden Files (complimentary). I totally get why everyone recommends the audiobook!

My ponybolted and fully bucked me off over his own head when I was 5. Like in a Tex Avery cartoon. He then took off for the barn, leaving me on the ground while my parents tried to catch up (I was fine). His name was Cracker Jack and he bit everyone. RIP a legend.

The miniseries, collected as HAWKGIRL: ONCE UPON A GALAXY, is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius.

Ok. Decided to finally watch 2000's The Grinch. This movie came out when I was in high school and I was such a snob about it. Ergo, I'd avoided it lo, these many years. 1/

This is a fantastic and fascinating look into Katie's business,but ALSO my famous son is pictured in it.

/2 in The Harrowing Game, 3 ghosts vie to tell the best scary story, and hopefully win their release from a purgatory of some kind. The stories are so good and unsettling and satisfying, and the art is a lovely balance to the more upsetting parts of the book, keeping you reading despite the horror.

As it is the spookiest week of the year, I read 'Cry Out Loud' @taraocomics.bsky.social. I wish this was longer, because I wanted so much more about the village and the weird relatives, but I am always here for Irish folklore and healing generational trauma. Every eldest daughter should read this.

Update: Rhubarb's name has morphed to become 'Barbara Jean' when she's in trouble. So now she's partly named after my mom 😂

I finally got a chance to sit down and read "Angelica and the Bear Prince" by @trungles.com and now I need everyone to read this! It's such a fantastic and sweet romance, and it made me almost cry at work.
