Well this was great:

Just putting this here so I have it somewhere: substack.com/home/post/p-...
For a guy with a graduate degree, the number of times I have almost taken Lactaid instead of my anti-depressants, and vice-versa, is staggering.
My mother used to ask me why don't you just write things that people read? Because I am a Literary Writer, and we don't take the straightforward path. I choose the inscrutable one that will lead me to a niche corner of the internet where we scream
I was absolutely delighted that the entire set of my nephew's band Earth Tones was up on YouTube. What an absolute pleasure of covers. The kids are going to be alright:
I just realized, as a point of pride, that I have absolutely no idea either of the teams that will be competing for the Superb Owl.
Hey, thank you!
"Hi, everyone. I know things are hectic as heck right now, but please be sure to fill out your timesheets every Friday by 5 p.m. Central. I canβt pay you unless I know your hours. Please also try to be accurate."
I can see nearby stars, but is the sun included in this animation? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Great work!

Tom Homan sounds like the name a robot would give itself to convince folks its *just a regular guy.*
In the midst of a sad and troubled world, it is not reassuring to me that even with a BA in Rhetoric and Writing and an MFA in Creative Writing I still cannot spell recipe or receipt right on the first attempt.
This is happening! An NH friend of mine lives just across the river from Maine and works over there sometimes. He said the locals are already picking out ICE agents at restaurants and bars, on the streets and at stores to berate them and run them off. Mariners will just say people are "from away"
I was today years old when I found out that Heated Rivalry was adapted, written, produced, and directed by Jacob Tierney of Letterkenny and Shoresy fame.
We finally caught up and finished #WhiteLotus season three and the most profound part was Carrie Coon's absolutely stunning "Time gives it meaning" monologue. What a disgustingly amazing artist.
I promise to stop posting about Victor Wong this morning, but I think the rabbit hole rewards some attention. (Also, I spent some time trying to find the photographer to credit, but had no luck)
I found another delightful read about Victor Wong and his well-lived life.
I first loved the actor Victor Wong for his role in the John Carpenter film Big Trouble in Little China, but there was so much more to this fascinating fella.
Me, but with Steely Dan:
The only time you should be listening to sound coming out of the speaker of your device without headphones on is in the seclusion of your own space. All other instances should be punished by public shaming. In this TED Talk I will be....
Cameron Winterβs record Heavy Metal really rewards dedicated listening in a warm car while waiting in the dark for the coffee shop to open.
There now
Guess I am a Maine Poet now? I was very giddy to be included in the second volume of the Midcoast Poetry Journal. #poetry #poem #writingcommunity #maine
I love this so much. Say what you will about The New York Times, the fact that this was on my homepage - a pause from the constant roar of a world seemingly on fire - was a choice to include a little beauty and awe in our day.
I will forever be enthralled by images from the surfaces of other worlds. We are lacking in the awe and togetherness forged by the awareness of our small place in a vast universe.

I lived at this bar from roughly 12-4am Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights for the two and a half years I bartended at BXL on 43rd Street. The only place that holds the same magic for me is Little Rock's Whitewater Tavern.
How was that Timmy Zahn?
How cool is this?
Every so often I marvel at how much I love the laptop I use daily, for everything, and then I am stunned to remember that it is over five years old. The 2020 Apple M1 MacBook Air is hands down the best machine I have ever owned and it is still kicking ass.
