Now on the Mediatheque at BFI Southbank: a TV broadcast of David Lynch's Guardian Lecture, recorded at the NFT in 1984.
Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more
Fun with colour from some weekend party snapshots 💞
It’s been 8 years but hiking small glaciers near Katla (amazing folklore tales about volcano), caving/northern lights near Hafnarfjörður. All the waterfalls are beautiful (Skógafoss/Svartifoss in particular). Natural hot springs like Lake Mývatn instead of blue lagoon anyday. Have fun!!
A chilly start to the year in Canada, making the most of this beautiful, crisp weather ❄️

Honor his memory by doing something strange, unraveling a riddle within yourself, and working on your favorite projects.

New review dropping on my newsletter tomorrow of the film “Flow”, which I really loved. I discuss climate disasters, what we owe this planet/our fellow living beings, and how the sometimes prickly nature of community is the only way forward for survival. This movie made me cry y’all.
And thus, ChatGPT should be categorically banned from all spaces in which plagiarism is against the rules, especially academia and journalism.
FYI: Little White Lies is entirely anti-AI, and we will never allow our writers' and illustrators' work to be used to train AI models. This is completely against what journalism and art should be and should stand for and it's disheartening to see other publications being taken down this road.
"I don't like the idea of 'understanding' a film. I don't believe rational understanding is an essential element in the reception of any work of art. Either a film has something to say to you or it hasn't. If you are moved by it, you don't need it explained to you."
- Federico Fellini
Four women (and one child) on a cinema stage in front of a slide saying Friends of Cymru Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia with an excited audience listening to the discussion.
Lovely event with the Youth Committee of Friends of Cymru Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia & Thalassaemia CIC who have put together a panel to talk about The Wild Robot and how films like this can help us deal with complex themes of family and dealing with emotional difficulties.

If anyone is wondering how living in Toronto is going, I’m running late to work as I just watched a giant raccoon politely make himself at home in our basement 🦝 Nice to have a new neighbour, I suppose

With respect, I don’t see how Disney wins the Best Animated Feature Oscar in the same year as Flow, The Wild Robot, and Memoir of a Snail.
