Don't laugh send help
A brown penguin chick of some kind. It looks very much like a man in a suit. It is bedraggled and miserable
Made it to Friday but at what cost
Out! In 1hr of drafting I am probably working on 3-4 different parts of the book.
Pro: this is one of the few times in my life that my ADHD gets to run rampant and actually get a good result (autism usually drives this bus π)
Con: when I get to the last leftover bits it kinda sucks. Brain goes π«
The "distracted boyfriend" meme, with "me" as the guy, who is checking out "the sequel" over "the book I'm supposed to be editing"
If anyone wants to know where I'm at, it's here
Coloring can be relaxing for me so long as I don't have too much nervous energy going on -- unfortunately that does happen. π
Have you tried puzzles? I've started doing puzzles lately and really enjoyed them! Puzzle + audiobook is a great combo for me.
A screenshot of a title page from Scrivener. It reads "The King In The Mountain" (subtitle): Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Vampire Penetration. And then in parentheses below it says "the TEETH, OH MY GOD I MEANT THE TEETH"
Sometimes I think I'm funny.
Shuffling back onto BlueSky to say, hi y'all, been a while π« I'm going to be more active on here moving forward - I really appreciate the community here - I've just been a bit distracted by the occupation.
I'm currently editing KitM and it should be query ready by April. Woohoo!
This isnβt about convicting Don Lemon. Itβs unlikely that will happen. Itβs about intimidating journalists & making them censure themselves out of fear of consequences. Itβs about eroding the free press because the administration canβt afford the criticism.
I donβt want to hear anything from an elected official unless itβs a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.
Nuremberg trials for ICE is the moderate position
Alex Prettiβs last words were βare you ok?β said the woman next to him who ICE also pepper sprayed in the face.
Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen and Minneapolis resident, was murdered by ICE today. He was a lawful gun owner. Our government saw his Second Amendment right as a threat and executed him in the streets.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
#Minneapolis #Minnesota
I want to make this extremely clear -- I live and work in Minneapolis.
THE ONLY VIOLENT ONES HERE ARE ICE.
History will remember us all.
Remember this. He's threatening to use the insurrection act against people standing on street corners BLOWING WHISTLES.
I'm sorry to those who followed me for writing; I would LOVE to be in a place mentally to write right now.
But I can't. I'm a Minneapolitan.
My city is under federal occupation. My neighbors are being kidnapped from their homes and there's too much work to do.
Want to help? SPREAD THE WORD.
The rage that has to exist in the average Minnesotan to watch someone stuck on an icy hill and STAND BY AND TAUNT THEM
A dark day to be a Minneapolitan. My heart aches.
My favorite part of reading is when a book gets so good you have to set it down, (finger marking the page), and just let your mind be blown for a minute before picking it back up again.

THAT FEELING WHEN YOU ACTUALLY FINISH THE DRAFT
A picture of a TV screen playing a cutscene from Octopath Traveler 0. An unnamed blond man points at someone else, saying "you are but a lowly writer. Know your place".

Playing the new Octopath game after a long (LONG) day when suddenly...
Excuse me sir but who even ARE you??? The disrespect --
Happy new year, y'all! May your 2026 be better than 2025 was.
The bar is so low. Please, 2026. Be better. π₯΄

"How did you get your start in writing?"
Well, you see, I daydreamed way too much as a little kid and just never really stopped π₯΄
I wrote almost every single day this year! I worked so hard on building the habit, and it's been a lot, but I feel like I really put my back into it this year. π

My heart hurts.
βBesides,β Ansel continues, βWe barely kill any more these days. That guy they found in the swamp was asking for it, but on the whole his majesty likes to keep it humane, and thatβs fine. Iβm not about to complain. Itβs not like any of us ever loved killing. Itβs not fun, itβs not sport. But thatβs how it goes. Humans kill to eat. So do we.β Thatβs certainly one way to look at it. Itβs a way of making sense of their existence, and it doesnβt exactly disagree with the stories, just frames the distinctly human perspective. No trapper sees themselves as a monster, but if rabbits could tell fairytales all of the villains would probably be human. βRight.β Silas says, ticking down the bullet points on the page. βAll that to say,β Ansel says, βWeβre not all falling apart at the seams or brooding in dark corners lamenting our miserable existence, or whatever. Iβm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this β but eternal life is just life, but longer.β

Working on the last bits of The King in the Mountain this week! Started off today by adding a little polish to this scene. It's one of my favorites: Silas' first interview with a real actual vampire! Ansel doesn't give him the answers he's been hoping for, though.
A young man, Micah, kneels in a field of purple flowers. He holds a bundle of purple flowers in one hand while reaching to gather more with his other hand. He has peach skin, golden hair, and brown eyes. He wears a white shirt, brown pants, and a wide-brimmed straw hat with flowers woven through. Behind him, there is a verdant forest of trees. Bees buzz around the man as he looks down towards his work. The title, Sweet & Wild, is above him and the authorβs name, Alex Larkspur, is below him.
