Wikipedia has a pretty decent history of the epic bacon trend and all the trends go back to the late 90s/early 2000s, when most millennials were teenagers (and the rest were even younger).

Those numbers seem absurdly low compared to the PlayStation and Xbox numbers in the graph above, so I'm honestly not sure how Sensor Tower came up with their numbers.

Perhaps Nintendo doesn't count free downloads, but that doesn't seem likely.

Nintendo actually publishes this info in their quarterly reports. Who knows why it wasn't included.

Agreed. I’ve never heard 80s bands referred to as butt rock. It was always a post-post-grunge thing for Nickelback, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, Staind, and bands like them.
