Who needs a fancy PlayStation or XBox when you can play Kill The Bit on your #RC2014 Orton 3C instead. All 28 bytes were toggled in by hand.
I was thinking along those lines. Taking some baby steps first just looking at the data bus.
Iβve been using a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 to spy on my #RC2014 Orton 3Cβs data bus. At the moment this just displays the hex value it can currently see. This means I can make sure the values Iβve toggled in are correct without having to mentally convert from binary.
A ZX BASIC program to plot a heart shape to the screen.
A heart plotted on screen.
Happy Valentines Day! Hereβs a little program for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum to plot a heart on screen.
This is the code I toggled in. It just calls some example code in ROM.
0000 0000 00 NOP
1100 0011 C3 JP $4150
0101 0000 50
0100 0001 41
Thanks. I have a blue box enclosure for it, but still making sure it's all working before fitting it. I think it's all OK as I can get it run my code.
My #RC2014 Orton 3C computer is up and running.
This is a really low level Z80 computer that you program using the switches on the front panel.
In this case, Iβm calling a ROM routine that reads the switches on the left, displays them on the LEDs, then rotates them left.
@peteronion.bsky.social is it too early to ask if you are organising another RC2014 Assembly this year? I really enjoyed the one last year and I would love to attend again.
It's good to know it's not just me. What value resistor did you end up using?
Also, how is your expansion module coming along? I've not seen any videos about the hex pad for a while.
I did, and the optional programmer as well. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'm hoping for some serendipity once it's all put together.
I held out for at least 3 months before ordering the kit. #willpower
Yes, the blue box for the case arrived from China yesterday.

Testing out my #RC2014 Orton 3C Digital IO module on my #RC2014 Picasso.
The power light is blinding, so I may need to swap the resistor for a bigger value like the numbered LEDs.
Apart from that, itβs all looking good for both input and output.
No, but it did have rubber keys.
A picture of a sticker on a wooden surface. The sticker is black with the following text in white: Been waiting long? That's because the council thinks someone in a car, a quarter of a mile away, is more important than you*. They could make the lights change as soon as you press the button if they wanted, but they don't. Complain to them. * A car moving at 30 mph will travel a quarter of a mile in 30 seconds.
She also has the right to vote on UK legislation for life. A powerful case for reform of the House of Lords.
I watched it as well last night. I wasn't sure to start with, but I ended up really enjoying it.
Youβll have to catch the Romney, Hythe , and Dymchurch railway when you get there. A fantastic ride in the miniature trains.

Rye is a lovely place to wander around.
Let mother sort it out.
The Slomo was a fantastic interface. I used to use mine a lot make games easier, or to pause a game before grabbing a screenshot.
Thatβs a pretty serious log Chris
I hope this doesnβt mean you need a recap.
Excellent article by #Eastbourne consultant orthopaedic surgeon @scarlettmcnally.bsky.social.

This is a very good article.
Enabling much more active travel and discouraging driving is a public health intervention that will reduce the load on the NHS.
Iβm local as well. We had Miles Jenner, the head brewer, do ours. It was very interesting and entertaining. He knows how to tell a good story.
Have you done the brewery tour? If not, itβs well worth it, and can be booked on their website.
Harveyβs do some really fantastic beers. The Sussex Best and Star of Eastbourne are particularly good in my opinion.
Fantastic work! Great to see it working with the Minstrel 4th.
