Some surprisingly literal responses to this
These people are somehow still pissed off that they arenβt allowed to go and watch a good hanging any more
Oh yeah. I mean, Bowie was always more than happy to do that
I know exactly what you mean.
Vision Thing, the last studio album by The Sisters Of Mercy. Released in 1990 to a very mixed reception
Vision Thing is one of those odd albums that sounds better now than it did at the time. Eldritch sounds like heβs mostly having a bit of a laugh on this one, βlearning to cry for fun and profitβ. The title track, Ribbons, More, and the existential angst of When You Donβt See Me are all highlights.
Ah, thatβs better. Like a hug from the perfect 80s goth leather biker jacket.
Fair, it never worked for me unfortunately
Apologies, my brain is misfiring completely this morning
Ignore me, I think Iβm having an βepisodeβ.
Enjoy the absence of driving responsibility!
I always want to like that one more than I do
Absolutely classic example of an achingly sad song masquerading as a jolly one
And people want to vote this guy in to run the entire country. The economy, the police, education, healthcare, everything. Just imagine that for a second, what that might look like. Heβs an absolutely transparent charlatan, bankrolled by the media.
I might just give up on trying to understand things, Iβve obviously become βhard of thinkingβ
Oh FFS, just stop it with this ID bullshit.
I shall investigate
There was no wit to The Mission. No poetry, no magic.
Oh yeah, same
I think I quite liked Tower Of Strength at the time, but even that sounds piss weak now. Whereas the Sisters albums still work just fine, yes, even Vision Thing (much misunderstood at the time, pah! Some goths have no sense of humour)
I never got the appeal of The Mission. I tried to like them, they looked great, but to me they always sounded like the goth U2. Mass appeal through sheer blandness
I would recommend the album Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. Itβs a real smorgasbord of what the band are capable of.
The cover of Crawl Space by Steve Toase, with artwork by Mikio Murakami
As Crawl Space is now out (available to order from @journalstone.bsky.social ;) ) I wanted to highlight the wonderful cover by Mikio Murakami, and some of their other amazing art. Obviously, you should also go and check out these books. 1/9
Early Madonna kicks ass
I would have reacted that way if it was The Cure.
