The more Starmer opposes Trump, the more his approval will climb.
The Prime Minister has got a modest bounce in reduced overall disapproval, from his position on the US attack on Iran. (His position on the crisis more popular than his govt)
Despite gap in approval, still in a near tie (+1 on Badenoch, -2 to Farage) on PM choices

the reaction to Epstein spotlights how badly we fail women and girls; the 'burbs fight back against ICE; a letter to Labour's next PM; apprenticeships in the modern economy; making cricket accessible to all; Joan Aiken's Wolves Chronicles
I'm not a military man, but why would we send an aircraft carrier anywhere near the Middle East for defensive purposes when we already have air bases in Cyprus, UAE, Qatar etc? Is it to transport the planes? Or other equipment on the ships?
E.g. I have seen Kanha in India described as wood-pasture, but huge areas of it are what I would call pretty deep jungle, even if the light does get through.
When we are having debates about closed canopy versus open woodland and so on it would be good to have some metric of density - because I have seen open wood pasture used to describe everything from savannah with a few trees, to what I would call pretty dense woods, with gaps and open structure.
A reliable indicator of truly ancient habitats - today marks the first time Iβve ever seen properly wild daffodils (Narcissus pseudonarcissus subsp pseudonarcissus)!
This huge population was in a beautiful riparian ancient woodland in Cheshire and itβs made my whole month! ππ±
Oh wow. Never seen that (I don't think anyway!). Lovely.
Conversation the other day about climate campaigner going back to X, and I was thinking that even aside from the morality of using the nazi site, I'm just not sure of the point, except maybe reaching some journalists. If you want to influence, surely video - Instagram, TikTok etc is the thing?
Dozens killed as Israeli special forces raid Lebanese village in search of 40-year-old remains
Indeed - although probably more immediately modelled on Israel..? The last two years of impunity in Gaza has laid a terrible precedent for air campaigns.
The asymmetry of the value placed on human life is so striking. Israel has a goal to recover 40-year-old remains; to do so, it invades a sovereign country, and the lives of 26 Lebanese are an afterthought. Their names not even worth printing in the New York Times.
BREAKING news: the deadly attack on a primary school in Minab, Iran on February 28 should be investigated as a war crime.
Allies of the US and Israel should insist on accountability for the Shajareh Tayyebeh school attack.

Weird to use an Egyptian mummy to illustrate this though - given as they are displayed in this way in museums all over the world, and of course Egypt too. So fine, if one thinks they should be repatriated, but they will not be treated any differently.
IMO we should not be letting the US use the UK bases at all. If that is too hard to do - politically or practically - then we should close the bases, because otherwise it is just servitude.
This is what Israel has done every few days of the Gaza βwarββ¦ they learned they could do so with impunity and the USA has copied the tactics.
Iran had a diffuse series of power structures at the best of times. This is not the best of times. You can have a president call for peace and an IRGC seeking to blow up Dubai airport all at once.
The dairy industry has operated for too long on the freedom to pollute.
Workers whose jobs are now at risk should ask their bosses why they did not invest in meeting legal requirements.

The European leaders need to find their courage and lay some of the blame for this at Trumps door - in order to tie his proxies to any suffering. Meanwhile double down on renewables/storage/efficiency. May also need some emergency relief for those worst impacted next winter.
βYouβd think heβd be busy monitoring the wildfire consequences of the war heβd just started. But, no, he entertained himself by slagging off the British leader to any British journalist whoβd listen.β
And they did more than listen. They disgraced themselves.

βWe are not going to be accomplices to something that is bad for the world β and contrary to our values and interests β simply out of fear of reprisals.β
Spain takes a position. Ireland could too.
The galaxy brains at the Telegraph think it strange and suspicious that the UK energy secretary would be involved in discussions over conflict in the Middle East.
Must be plotting a coup π€‘π€‘π€‘
Also all Trumpβs team of religious fanatics are not going to pass up the opportunity of a Holy War.
Trump and his stooges (Farage, the Telegraph et al) expect blind obedience from their satellites, but offer nothing in return, least of all any morality.
The USA is no ally of Europe. Been coming for quite a while Iβd suggest.

Well, there might be no clear goal to the US attack on Iran, but there is definitely one thing that is not a goal--and that is democracy for Iran. www.cnn.com/2026/03/06/p...
Also stay well out of their war with Iran, Lebanon etc.
America? Russia? A world of global insecurity. The point is not who you need to fight, but that if you don't have the capacity you need to go beg those who do - we have seen that recently, when the Europeans must tip-toe around the USA to ensure its grudging help on Ukraine.
