When I was a librarian our local gov threatened to cut our funding over a very stupid reason an the way we got out of that was just HOW many people showed up to town halls to shout about it. They just got exhausted of having to deal with people. That lesson holds today -- show up for your library!

If you can’t be bothered to write your books and fill them with human experience, why exactly would I spend money buying them? Lmao. I don’t get it. I have no desire to read what an algorithm scrapes up, spits out and which is then egregiously presented as an acceptable replacement to humanity.

Writing is an act of salvation.
Writing is an act of exploration.
Writing is an act of emotion.
Writing is an act of confession.
Writing is an act of speculation.
Writing is an act of reflection.
Keep writing.

Sometimes self-care is just vigorously venting in your diary until your hand cramps in an attempt to combat your autistic spiral, because emotional regulation is harder for us, even if you know logically the cause of said emotional spiral isn’t nearly as big a deal in the grand scheme as it feels.

More to say on burnout and I'm probably going to boost it a few times because folks need to hear it:

Burnout is a form of brain damage. It happens when stress conditions persist until they damage our brains.

It's an injury that needs to heal, not a weakness that needs to be pushed through.
