It was mainly that the UI script that was attached is used normally for capturing player mouse events in standard 2D UI.
So replicating it multiple times (for each enemy) made it extremely performance draining!
Huge performance boost during development today!!!
Turned out we were assigning a UI call to a world space enemy buff/debuff elementβ¦ Fixed, and now the spike has been removed π₯π₯π₯ #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame #coding #roguelike
