Wednesday's matinee #theatre treat is a revival of Terrence Rattigan's Man And Boy at the Dorfman Theatre at the National. It's about a financier trying to save his empire in the 1930s, but it has obvious contemporary relevance. Looking forward to it.

I never manage to take photos @nationaltheatre.org.uk press nights but MAN AND BOY is fabulous; clever and cool; the cast esp Ben Daniels having a lovely time and while we all thought it spoke to our time, my GOD that’s only intensified since it was programmed. Great gang great play.

Theatre recommendation: Went to see Man and Boy at the National Theatre. It's Terence Ratigan so not very cheerful but packs an emotional punch. Ben Daniels is immense as a corrupt oligarch so this is a hard recommend if you fancy something dark and moody.

Last night went to see Man and Boy at Dorfman in London’s glitzy South Bank with Stuart.
Rattigan meets now. Ben Daniels and company spar on a sparse set with grim humour. One inevitably thinks of Robert Maxwell.

After seeing and then being in a Rattigan play, I couldn’t resist this one especially as it started Ben Daniels, whom I’d seen in Medea. He has such stage presence. Laurie Kynastan was great too. Play is dark and demands your focus.
