Hey @tvaziri.com, dumb question. I thought I heard somewhere that VFX used to only build what is seen. But breakdowns show entire cities built for what seems like a few establishers. Is it because it's cheaper to build the entire asset rather then just key pieces due to revisions down the line?
Soon, people will be criticizing jump-cuts as signs of AI video editing just like they criticize em-dashes in โ supposedly โ AI writing.
Yeah, but I still think they had the value of FCC compliancy and human transcription accuracy going for them. I understand if that's not their core business model, but they don't even have video production / post-production listed as an industry they serve anymore.
Anyone noticed that Rev has seemingly pivoted their entire business away from general video captioning and transcription to Criminal and Law transcription? #postchat #videoediting
Absolutely stunning #VFX work. #WetaFX and the artists there deserve every award. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZDL...

I think itโs amazing how the tools we use have evolved and or perished. I feel like today we have an abundance of options, and I feel like Iโve got to learn them all so I can stay ahead.
I definitely need to learn more on Macros. Motion has spoiled me with just saving and it appearing in FCP as a fully editable template and I'd love not having to jump into Fusion every time.
Avid is one of those NLEs I want to learn, but never find the courage.
All great points. I absolutely love Motion. But I find myself cutting in FCP less often, not to say that I couldn't still use Motion.
Yeah, I think Fusion is very powerful. But sometimes, it feels a bit like driving a semi-truck through a suburban intersection for simple projects. I almost feel like Fusion needs it's own "cut" page, but for easy to make motion graphics, with both a node-based and layer-based compositing.
Sure, another video delivered is great...
But another "This is great!" from a client?
That's what I'm really here for. ๐ฏ

It is a stupid ass bug. Every NLE has them. For me, it's about what limits my ability to get to the finish line. But my identity isn't tied to the NLE I use for any given project, so I could change back to Resolve or FCP at any point for any reason. But right now, I'm enjoying Premiere's state.
It's just a bug. I've been testing Premiere for the last few months and I'm impressed with it's reliability. A lot of work has been done on addressing issues and improving quality of life. After Effects has also received a lot of back end love too.
Yeah, I created a "imported media" bin. But after this project, I think I'm heading back to Adobe. They've made some very noticeable improvements.
#Premiere still has an annoying bug I think that's been around for a while. Importing an XML that was generated from Premiere still re-imports all media regardless if "allow duplicate media on import" is unchecked. Gah! OCD is triggered! #postchat #videoediting
I hear you. I've become pretty editing agnostic. I have been opening it more to start an edit as they've addressed a lot of my complaints from years ago. And After Effects is till my go to, which has always been my gateway drug to Premiere.
#PremierePro #Postchat friends, did you notice #Adobe dropped the "Pro" from Premiere Pro? Thoughts?
I'd be surprised if it came out in .0.1 release. But I'll certainly won't argue if it does.
No. Just based on everything that was confirmed via Apple's Product Marketing at CineD www.cined.com/apple-creato...
I adore #FCP and most of the apps in the new #CreativeStudio subscription. But the new Visual Search is a filter function. ๐คฎ. Trranscription still doesn't have speaker labels, so no Paper Edit utility. ๐ Resolve is still hundreds of miles ahead.

I think posts like shouldn't be locked behind a paywall. The truth is far more important than the money, I would hope.
Thanks for the insights on this. All throughout the holiday break I was looking at monitors. Right now, I'm using the Ultrafine LG. Most of the color I do if for web, but I'm wondering if I should start offering a HDR version of deliverables just to practice and learn.
๐ Thanks!
Thank you! It was a great birthday, but my holiday break was exactly what I needed. lol
Thanks man! Hope you had a great holiday!
Awesome! Remote collab is one of the area's I haven't yet explored. I selfishly like to handle everything, but I should probably bring on some assistance.
As an Avatar apologist, I found #AvatarFireAndAsh a chore to watch. Visuals, hands down, best-in-class and that alone is worth ticket. And the best part was the Fire clan, but they were in the film for ~30 mins. I think it would have held interest longer if they were the focus.
Yup. Same experience. I did get one legitimate request and that did lead to a job but I knew it was legitimate because it was local and they were connected with mutuals. I definitely will not use it tho.
Yup. All engagement bait to convince you to pay for premium. Itโs the dating site model but 100x worse.
