Dutch roboticist by day | indie game dev by night I post updates of my video game development and other nerdy obsessions Please check out and wishlist Broom and Boom : s.team/a/3673790 It Digs Up : s.team/a/3554000 #GameDev #indiedev #solodev #gamemaker
That is some jiggle physics I can get behindπ
a screenshot showing the top of a dynamic collection in steam called STEAMDECKINDIES, that show that there are 666 games in the collection
Just sorted my steam library by indie + steam deck playable, and I have 666 indies to play
A devilish task, but not unexpected after years of steam sales, humble bundles and a constant feeling of 'that looks neat, I'll support that and get to it later'
5th game in 2026, Haste
A third person speed runner. I was skeptical that this could work, but it feels great and has so many moments that make you feel awesome as you zip to narrowly avoid obstacles
The vibrant colors and bopping soundtrack are great, this has become one of my favorite games
I'm working on remaking my gamemaker library of assets and scripts in godot. So far, I'm having a good time. Godot to me feels like the halfway point between gamemaker and unity
Also, playing around with an empty canvas and exploring all its features is a liberating #gamedev feel
Depends on what you want to do.
Know C# or want to go 2D or want mobile gamedev? Go unity
Know C++ or want to get granular with the source code? Go unreal
Alternatively, Godot and Gamemaker are beginner friendly if that is a concern
I got most of those, but never heard of Kingdoms of the Dump before, that title alone intrigues me greatly.
Thank you for the suggestions!
Never heard of sektori and lonely mountains snow riders before, some juxtaposition between both of those, but looks good, they are going on the list. Thank you for suggesting
I completely missed that katamari games are on steam. Will be checking that out (and reinstalling dead cells ;-)). Thank you for the suggestion
ooh, looks interesting. Its going on the list, thank you for suggesting
Sounds good, any older windows games come to mind?
Showing a steam deck playing Broom and Boom
My steam deck arrived today. First up was Broom and Boom, my newly released game.
It is definitely not yet ready for steam deck, but at least I can test it now (add it to the Todo patch list)
Also, play lots of other indies. Anyone got good suggestions for steam deck verified indies?
#gamedev PSA: if you transfer your Steam authenticator to a new phone, you canβt approve pushing new builds live for 72 hours
If, like me, you release a game and get a new phone at the same time, you should probably wait to switch until youβre sure there aren't any game-breaking bugs to patchπ
Working on the patch for Broom and Boom, which came out last tuesday. Mostly there were issues with the last weapon you unlock, the AC130, which wouldn't lock on properly
I may have overcorrected on the auto aim here, but at least you can call down rockets from the sky

a screenshot of the steam store page of Broom and Boom, a indie game about flying on brooms and firing guns at goblins
My game released! Thank you to everyone who showed interest and support during the development, it means the world to me
Check it out if being a witch on weird brooms, firing guns and casting spells sounds appealing to you s.team/a/3673790

Tomorrow my game comes out
In it, you can fly on a toy elephant, firing your minigun at goblins on brooms and turning into a rainbow bullet to fight a mecha-goblin
Regardless of how it does, I'm happy that I was able to finish it and that it now exists. I really love #indiedev
#gamedev
Thank you!
After this, I will take some time to familiarize myself with Godot before jumping into the next game
Last #screenshotsaturday before my game comes out next Tuesday
Just being able to say 'I thought of this and then I made it' makes it worth all the effort
I do love #gamedev and #indiedev, thank you to everyone who shares their works on here (both finished and WIP), you make me happy and inspired
Thank you for your kind words!
The game is called Broom and Boom, and can be found here : s.team/a/3673790
7 days to go until my game releases. I am very excited.
#gamedev is not my day job. I make games because I want to see the silly ideas in my head come to life. If this sells enough to pay for another steam submission, I'll count it as a success
I'll be proud to have finished it regardless :-)
I don't fully understand what is going on with this mosh pit of creatures, this pile of critters, but I'm intrigued
Good luck with the release!
Only one is hard, its a shared first place between Luftrausers, King of the Bridge and Dungeons of Hinterberg
4th game, En garde!
A swashbuckle-em-up. Combat is less mechanical skill and more positioning and quick thinking
Am enjoying it a lot. Throw a cooked chicken at one head, light a cannon as guards come across a corner. Vibrant color and comedic tone also really appeal, highly recommend this one
For this #screenshotsaturday, I've just been cleaning up bugs, balancing, controlling my own nervous excitement as it comes together
The goal is to get a version ready to send to valve tomorrow for approval and confirm my release date in mid-February

a white on black sketch of a fleeing warlock woman with only one eye visible, visibly panicking, from a big werewolf in plate with a hammer chasing her. The art style is cartoonish and looney tunes.
Trying to get more practiced at drawing on a tablet. Using scenes from the #DnD game I DM makes me feel a bit more motivated to plug in and pick up the stylus
In this case, one of the PC warlocks fleeing from a lycan paladin of Pelor

Working on particles to replace the poison effect aura, but accidentally made it look like the witch is riding the sun instead of a toiletbrush
#gamedev #indiedev #gamemaker
I'm aware that the vortex to an area changes color based on whether you are over or under leveled. But if you are okay with giving relative hints, surely it would not have taken away from the experience to show a number
Third game this year, expedition 33
Fully earns all the praise it gets. Satisfying combat, striking art direction, intriguing world, I'm adding soundtrack to my work playlists
One small niggle, heavy side-questing made the finale too easy, slight anticlimax. Suggested lvl for areas would be nice
Thank you for the compliment, much appreciated!
Steampage is here s.team/a/3673790
Testing out different with-builds, fixing little bugs. This is the witch with a rocket launcher on a toilet brush, bouldermancy and ox spirit
The green circle is the poison aura (from the toilet brush). Visually, too much of a placeholder vibe, so changing it

First time as an adult, so a lot of childhood memories came back up, mostly about how things seemed bigger back then π
