No one who experiences sexual assault or sexual harassment at work should be pressured into signing an NDA. The Australian Government and other states and territories need to follow Victoria’s lead and ban the misuse of NDAs. /2

When I worked as a researcher at Parliament House, I spent years providing data on women’s representation in parliaments to politicians across the political spectrum. That material was used in many of their IWD speeches. /2

As I told @canberratimes.bsky.social, sexual assault, sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination in parliamentary workplaces are not a laughing matter.
Estimates should be a place for accountability, not stunts or jokes. /5

Also this Senate Estimates round, senators have asked questions about condom vending machines and the opening hours of the Parliament House gym. But there have been no questions about the toxic culture at the Department of Parliamentary Services. /2
At Senate Estimates on Monday night the CEO of the Parliamentary Workplace Support Service laughed when questioned about staff complaints. The PWSS was set up to support staff experiencing bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment or sexual assault. /1 #auspol
