Also on an actual C64, this wouldn't work for a multicolour sprite without splitting the sprite into two sprites and combining them because sprites this large can only be monochrome.
I tried taking the Final Fantasy pixel art #ClairObscurExpedition33 characters and making the Maëlle one into a #C64 sprite. There's no good pink colour for light skin tones in the C64 palette and there's no strong red or orange, so I don't like how her face and hair are the same colour.
