I thought you were genuinely talking about the dirt bike and ATV gangs in DC.

“We call it Butlerian Jihad! We love Butlerian Jihad. Butlerian Jihad! It means no computers! It’s a beautiful thing really. You’re hearing it more and more. Butlerian Jihad!”
What does the act of mauling tell us of the nature of the beast within the pet? And what in turn does it tell us about us?
😳 yes.
Where!? Want!!
Or as the Indians called it, DOGE.
Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois facilitated our daughter’s adoption.
Wow! How is it? Cold I bet.
I’ve read more books since I deleted Instagram and Facebook from my phone in November than I have in the last five years combined.
Just say no. Delete your account. You won’t miss it.
👀
No one’s going to talk about the guy about to get the shit beat out of him in the bike lane?!
You can do it!! Start moving your conversations on IG to Signal or whatever now and bit by bit you won’t had a reason to stay. The little videos are so dumb, once you’re a few days out of the habit of watching them you won’t miss them.
I’ll take it!
That’s what I’ve been saying! Even if he just lied, and said “No, it wasn’t a Nazi salute, I hate Nazis,” it would be much more muddled than it is now. But what he and any of his supporters have said so far just confirms: he is a Nazi. Twitter is a Nazi-owned platform.
It’s exactly what Trump does. “A lot of people are saying!”
The law and order candidate.
I just pressed the delete buttons on Facebook and Instagram. Twitter went when the nazi took control.
You won’t regret it.
I’m free. I competed the steps and Bluesky is now my only social medial account.
I agree. It’s clearly not about compelling policy arguments or out-competing their vision for the future. It’s about memes. So, AOC for president! I guess.
They’re life changing
Seems a good day to actually click the “delete” button on Facebook and Instagram today.
It’s a weird headline. The article is about the incoming admin “asking” them to resign (ie they were preemptively fired). But the headline makes it seem like they resigned in protest.
Woof the smog in Seoul today is no joke.
It’s a hard habit to keep, especially when Bluesky is fun. But during the pandemic I had a “in-print only”‘policy for news. Only reading articles that had to be researched, edited, and could be corrected before the edition went to print was excellent for my mental health.
Especially when the TikTok in question should have been a Vine 😭
Starter packs are great but remember they are curated by a human being. While they got me a lot of people to start following, it took a lot of UNfollowing to get my timeline to be based on some semblance of reality.
It’s also reinforcing my decision. The algorithms didn’t bring these people any closer to me. Instead I got AI slop, disinformation, and the most insane coffee enema ads.
And in so doing I’ve reconnected with dozens of people I haven’t interacted with for years. It’s almost like what the promise of social media was before it all went to hell.
One of the unexpected delights of quitting Meta has been the old friends reconnecting. As I’m preparing to excise myself from Facebook and Instagram, I’ve been posting asking folks to get in touch if we’re not in contact outside of Facebook/IG.
