Our vet mentioned a few things it could be but she fired them off more quickly than my brain could soak up. Not hopeless but could be a lot more expensive than previously thinking" Me: "oh Jeez! Well I hope the donations I have been able to rustle up so far are helping"

I agree, we’re going back to a time when some of the more impactful science research & discovery was done overseas.
Agree, I think AGU attendance will be much smaller over the next 4+ years. Too much happening & very uncertain.
Right now some conferences are at risk because of the government employees travel ban.
AMS2026 will have attendance issues but I think it will be worse for AGU which has many international attendees. Who wants to put up with this nonsense.
I just remember going through customs in HOU after a business trip in Lima & vowed never again.
You assume people in the US would read something beyond a headline.

As of 9pm, a confirmed tornado is now about 16 miles southeast of Greensburg, Indiana moving northeast at 50mph. Will be in Fayette and Union County in about 30 minutes (~9:30pm). Tornado may dissipate or survive. Worth watching.
