It's meant to be played how you want. These people are just mean. There are plenty of people that choose to play avatars of the opposite gender in VRChat. Even those who do not wish to live life as a different gender. You are fine playing how you want!

Grateful to have met amazing friends from Japan! The vibe in Japanese clubs is different from the West—quieter but still super fun. Language can be a barrier, but tools like VRCT help a lot. The scene’s full of kind people and great DJs. Excited for more VRChat events together! Let's cooperate!
