Blood Name; Lineage; Ancestor’s Gift?

After playing the first two episodes (and choosing to crash with Stella), I had to learn how to make biscuits from scratch because of how they were described. They really nail the immersive feelings and establishing atmosphere.

That’s what she‘s talking about; Scarlet Hollow is a visual novel made by Black Tabby Games. It’s truly an excellent example of not just the genre but writing in general; they have done several interviews on their writing worth finding on YouTube. Also see: Slay the Princess!

I’m a believer in multiple playthroughs; I have like 60-80 hours in it, and it’s a lot of fun to see multiple perspectives. And the combos of traits that have special impact like Hot+Powerful Build = Himbo/Bimbo/Thembo playthrough :-D

All of the traits are good, but I do think those will give you an interesting playthrough!

Duskwood! It’s from the era of found-phone FMV “horror,” but it had a lot more heart and many fewer jump scares, a more emotionally resonant story, and a single-purchase-unlock option for all content.

The first “powered” person story of the 4400 was a great moment of that. The show wasn’t perfect but I did appreciate a lot of it.

The real answer is that the redesigned ending f’ed up by making one option where Shepard wakes up, without adding equivalent bonuses for high readiness rating to the other two endings. Also, “fans” shouldn’t bully devs even when the ending IS rushed, so it’s all a sad tale of almost perfect.

Don’t always assume the way the “elders” behave/treat you, the newbie, is good/fair or even normal. I had this easier than many, as a white dude, but youthful enthusiasm is sometimes used as an opportunity to demand +++, pay - - -

4) I played well with others—specifically, while I didn't always agree with others’ feedback or design decisions, I didn’t make it all about me. As a newbie to the space, I embraced the opportunity to be involved, without resenting not being in charge.

That said… here’s another hard part:

My break was 1000% luck (a senior writer on the Serenity RPG dropped out at the last second, and they needed a replacement).

But I was offered the gig over others bc:
1) I was already up to speed.
2) My playtest materials were well written.
3) I followed feedback as given by the designers.

And…

This & the thread around it. Luck is key, but you can’t get lucky if you don’t try to be involved in the community; and even if you have that lucky opportunity, it will evaporate if you’re a jerk, can’t take feedback, or don’t follow through.

A friend of mine has been an editor at a publishing house for about 20 years. The house recently got a new investor… who insisted they fire all but 20% of the editing staff and move the remainder to “quality control,” checking the EditSlop ai didn't output hateful content.

To anyone who plays Fortnite and considers themselves a trans ally: Please don't buy any of the in-game Harry Potter stuff.

Good chance a lot that money will go JK Rowling, who has and will use it to fund movements and campaigns to discriminate against Trans folk and take away Trans rights.
