This has been said before, but half of all conferences should be held in Portugal.
Excellent infrastructure, weather, and food. Not to mention nice people and cheap to visit too.
Why not go for a panel data setup? Is there the Bayesian equivalent? Maybe something with multi-level shocks (say economy-wide, industry and firm-specific) and standard errors?
Is it too early to start talking about who will win the Economics Nobel Prize or whatever you like to call it) this year?
