VGA definitely looks the best but CGA is a lot of fun to hack around with 😁
The low resolution 320x200 mode is always stuck with the same 16 colours due to backwards compatibility with CGA monitors. I always wondered what games of this era would have looked like if they could pick their own palette from the 64 colours like in the high res mode
Ah I didn't realise there were so many modern expansion options available. I only have a stock Electron and was writing a game for it last year. A bit of a pain loading via the tape port though!
Will this run on a stock Electron or do I need a RAM expansion?
I need to give this a go on my Book8088! Last time I tried on my HP palmtop it froze the system (ctrl+alt+del didn't even work!)
Has anyone done a breakdown of the Z80 Elite source code like you did with the 6502?
I used Michael Brutman's mTCP library for TCP/IP networking and my own HTTP code based on MicroWeb. It all runs in real mode so should even run on a high clocked 286. I'll keep an eye out for your RNG code 😁
