A very brisk trip to Lyme Regis this afternoon.
The hagstone is one of many that are easy to find on the beach there.
The stone steps are known as Granny’s Teeth and are traditionally said to be the location in Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’ where Louisa Musgrove falls down something similar
Located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, Qingshui Cliff in Hualien, Taiwan, is forged by the collision of the Eurasian and Philippine plates.

I'm a star (well, not me the sea star). Astarina miniata, a bat star as it moves over pink rock (coralline algae) filled with tube mollusks.
These sea stars can be found with amazing colors; yellow, orange, purple, green, red, and brown plus combinations of these colors. And they'll eat urchins.

A flawlessly white egret against a flawless turquoise sky. Its wings are outstretched and it's about to sail between me and the sun, so the sunlight is shining through the translucent wing and tail feathers. At the wingtips, the primaries are slighly spread, light fingers. Shadows in the leading edges of the wings indicate where the thin wing bones are found. The head ends in an orange beak. The black legs are extended straight back, with the toes slightly spread.
