In January, the federal government announced its new dietary guidelines, which turned the food pyramid upside down and put meat and dairy at the top.
D.C. TAXES UPDATE: There's still no final resolution in the fight between D.C. and Congress over whether the city has decoupled itself from some of the Trump tax cuts or not. Tax-filing continues as normal, but there's still a chance it could be stopped and delayed.
Go see some Irish movies this weekend, ya jags.
a fan of this energy tbh, and ambitious politicos should be trying to outdo each other here
You can’t even trust a *pinky promise* these days
This gets to the heart of how MAHA is inextricably tied to MAGA. If hazy nostalgia is your only north star, there’s no angle to prioritizing the theoretically good anti-chemical, anti-Big Ag stuff ahead of the quackery

ICYMI, we’ve heard now from several reliable sources that federal agencies may remove a substantial chunk of the 15th St NW protected bike lanes near the National Mall.
This is some BS.

NEW: @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social says in a new legal opinion that the bill passed by the D.C. Council late last year decoupling the local tax code from Republican tax cuts remains the law, regardless of Congress having passed a disapproval resolution this month.

My first book with @peoplesbooktakoma.com’s Indie Press book club was this hazy, dreamlike, and brief novel imagining Benito Juárez’s exile in 1853 New Orleans. Much as I appreciated it, I would have gotten more out of if I had more background in Mexican history www.graywolfpress.org/books/season...

Now, workers from many backgrounds at the Greeley plant have authorized a strike.

I’d seen recommendations of this regularly over the years. Each of its four narrators goes on too long, but it’s a clever snapshot of 17th Century English science and politics presented via a murder mystery. I was skeptical it would stick the landing, but it did
🚨New billboard our campaign just erected near the ICE detention facility in Aurora, Colorado. Every ICE agent leaving the facility should know: you are not above the law.

Many are rightly noting that clicks alone is a terrible way to make coverage decisions. But it’s also just not true these cuts reflect reader interest. Some of the Post’s most popular writers were cut. The most read stories this week were written, edited and designed by people who lost their jobs.
In 2016, when Post reporter Jason Rezaian was freed after spending 1.5 years in Iranian prison, Jeff Bezos personally flew him back on his private plane. Bezos used it as a photo op.
Now, Bezos is leaving people he laid off overseas in a lurch.
