Most US states aren't one of the ten wealthiest nations on earth, and wouldn't thrive as well on their own as California could. And most wouldn't want to try anyway.
But if they could and did, is replacing the USA with 25 tiny countries + a messed up red half-USA better for mankind? I doubt it.
I dunno, I think exiting the USA would make California somewhat better... But make the remaining 49 state United States of America substantially worse. As Republicans would win federal elections in it a LOT in the decades ahead without California votes. That's worrisome to me.
