What can I say about John Economos… he brings a lot of “why am I here?” Portrayed by the real-life birthday boy Steve Agee (happy birthday, pal!) The first comic he ever appeared in was of course SUICIDE SQUAD #1, written by John Ostrander, with pencils by Luke McDonnell and inks by Karl Kesel.

He first appeared in SUPERMAN #4, written by Jerry Siegel, with pencils by Joe Shuster and inks by Paul Cassidy.

Happy Birthday to the ambitious and unstoppable CEO and scientist Lex Luthor, who most definitely is NOT a villain, but instead of protector of earth and humanity (he swears on a stack of Bibles). We'll see how he does working with arch-nemesis Superman in MAN OF TOMORROW, in theaters summer of 27.

He made his debut in DETECTIVE COMICS #469, written by Steve Englehart, with pencils by Walt Simonson and inks by Al Milgrom.

Happy anniversary to Doctor Phosphorus, who went from melting faces on the pages of comic books, to stealing scenes in CREATURE COMMANDOS. And yes, that radioactive charm is courtesy of the great Alan Tudyk.

When Gorilla Grodd made his comic debut, he immediately chose violence (and mind control, obviously).  His first appearance was in THE FLASH #106, written by John Broome, with pencils by Carmine Infantino, and inks by Joe Giellaroome, with pencils by Carmine InfaInfantino, and inks by Joe Giella.

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Weasel, portrayed by the one and only Sean Gunn in CREATURE COMMANDOS and THE SUICIDE SQUAD.
