GON is very good and creatureful, and it has a very good sense of atmosphere for a SNES platformer. A couple of the levels are a bit annoying but the set itself is pretty straightforward.
I also recommend Tail Gator on GB, very simple and cute little platformer by Natsume that's pretty breezy!

I highly recommend GG Aleste 1 + 2, they're very high quality for being Game Gear games and pretty reasonable difficulty wise! There's also a 3rd one made by M2 in 2020, but I haven't tried it yet myself.
