Yes, May is in the way. May also lies here, she does not have the consensus of the Party's governing body. She's already had to a apologize once for that same mistake.

"The smartest move the Greens could make would be to reject May’s plea to remain party leader, move forward with a leadership campaign and get a new leader who isn’t in May’s back pocket in any way, shape or form. It’s the party’s only means of survival."

In fairness it’s not like she has to give up her seat entirely, or even leave the party.
But seriously, part of the problem is people sees the Green Party as the Elizabeth May Party. Green Party will need to move on from her as leader sooner or later.
Just voted in the GPC Leadership Review. It's time for change in the Party #gpc
We can't afford to keep May on any longer, we just start the process of renewal with a Leadership Race. To do that, we must vote No in the leadership review.

Our town hall is starting now!
May gives a very rosey view of timelines, but she's been wrong before. The longer she delays, the higher the risk of us getting caught without a leader. Vote "No" in the upcoming leadership review. #gpc #greenparty #cdnpoli
May continues to dodge direct questions. Whether or not she resigns is wholly in her purview. #gpc #greenparty #cdnpoli
Despite what May claims, voting to support her in the leadership review does not guarantee a faster or better leadership race #gpc #greenparty #cdnpoli

Correction to Philippe - May hasn't actually resigned. She has just claimed she wants to resign, maybe, if the vibes are right, before the next election.
We still need to vote "No" in the upcoming leadership review
#gpc #greenparty #cdnpoli
Elizabeth May wants to frame the Leadership review as about supporting her in the short term while she debates resigning. But the review is actually about whether or not May deserves to serve through the next election.
Vote "No" in the leadership review.

Why vote No if May claims she's resigning anyways? On top of us being given no concrete time-line, we need every day we can get to find and prepare our next leader (or co-leaders). Hear from @egilmour.bsky.social
