Hi hello, if you were a dev involved with the visuals of Assassin's Creed Unity, I'd love to chat with you about it. Specifically, what went into the art of the game and why you think it holds up so damn well to this day (because it does) compared to other ACs.

RTs appreciated πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

In light of recent series leadership changes, Ubisoft has delivered updates across the entire Assassin's Creed franchise, including Codename Hexe, Codename Invictus, and more, alongside a tease of a Black Flag remake. gameinformer.com/2026/03/04/u...

I'm admittedly weary of Aniimo a bit, because of its free-to-play nature and silence around its plan for that model, BUT, after playing it for about 4 hours, it's got the monster-collecting juice. It's a looker, too!

Aniimo Preview - Gotta Become ’Em All - Game Informer We spoke to the creators of Aniimo, the adorable PokΓ©mon-inspired monster collector.

Another preview-feature I'm excited about in the latest issue of Game Informer is my words on Aniimo!

I'm always stoked to talk to any team making a creature-collecting RPG, knowing a PokΓ©mon release is basically always on the horizon, & the conversation was great: gameinformer.com/preview/2026...

Hunting A Witch How the developers behind Witchfire built the shooter they’ve always wanted alongside its community with Early Access.

In the latest issue of GI, I spoke to The Astronauts to learn more about Witchfire, an FPS launching later this year that, as anyone playing it in Early Access knows, is a can't-miss game.

We talked early access, being a "5D shooter," the 1.0 launch, and more: gameinformer.com/feature/2026...

That lil city section is such a tease – do I want an open world RE? I don't think so. Do I want to explore the rest of that city just to see what it looks like in the RE engine?? Yeah, I do very badly

Hmm i disagree – if we know we’re getting just a part of the larger picture, we shouldn’t act like we have the full picture because the other parts aren’t publicly available.

Also, I don’t really care what gamers do or say either these stats - I take issue with reporting that does this

04.03.2026 00:52 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I don’t think Sony cares about being a part of the conversation either way tbh, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with utilizing Steam numbers.

I just see a clear overemphasis on Steam numbers. Yes, they’re what’s available but they’re only part of the story, not THE story

True, that's a really good point. Whereas Highguard, which was free to play, NEEDED players (players committed and interested) to make money on in-game transactions and the like

03.03.2026 22:13 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Yeppp exactly. Like, it has its purpose – it is a look at one piece of the pie, but a lot of people just act like there aren't other pieces.

Obvi it's diff when a game is only on Steam but these multiplatform live-service games where people track metrics like it's a religion...nah

03.03.2026 22:03 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Somewhere along the line, it became, "Oh, we have Steam metrics, therefore, we have the best possible look at the playerbase" when in reality, it's the only look at the playerbase because PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo don't make that information public, save for marketing beats and PR

a graph from Highguard game director Chad Greiner that shows PS5 was the biggest playerbase for the game by at least 100%, following by Xbox, then Steam.

a graph from Highguard game director Chad Greiner that shows PS5 was the biggest playerbase for the game by at least 100%, following by Xbox, then Steam.

This is from Highguard's game director and more proof that we ~really~ need to stop reporting on Steam's numbers as if they are always the commanding metric. In this case, the Steam playercount was the lowest (ironic, given how many reports and takes and posts were made about its Steam concurrents)

I bet Hello Games is thankful every day that No Man’s Sky launched in 2016 and not the 2020s.

That said, Hello Games was able to take a really rough launch, turn it around with hard work and great community-led updates and now No Man’s Sky is still trucking today, new updates and all!
