A past cat was like that with a patch (Karndean, not carpet) where I once spilled some bleach. Breaking in to a room she wasn't supposed to get into solely to lick and lick at that spot.
Nature is beautiful. One of our cats is an absolute hoover for vomit from other cats. Need to move fast to beat him to it.
Two tabby cats on a cat-bed shelf in a room, Moo and Mabel. The background is cluttered with items such as books, plushies, cushions, and picture frames. Moo is looking up and to the left, and has one paw poking forward out of the bed. Mabel is looking down and to the right, and is performing "loaf".
Moo has little sneezing fits sometimes. tishtishtishtishtish, around 4 Hz. This morning I counted. Results:
13 in a row. Then pause. Then 8 in a row. Pause. Then 5 in a row.
Fibonacci sneezing? Is that a thing? All the internet finds is an old Reddit thread that didn't receive any useful replies.
The Reform accounts seem flush these days; I imagine it came from there. Now, where _that_ money came from and how it came to propel puppets of foreign interests like Farage into the middle of our national conversation - a responsible country would probably have asked that question as it arrived.
Once was delivered somebody else's pricy medicine, a distinctive name. Found name locally, attached to a college, confirmed with college the right person, delivered it there, left contacts, confirmed later it had been passed on.
Felt pleased with myself. Never had a word of thanks from the person.
That feeling when you need to find the definition of a quantity and the reference next to it in the paper you've been given leads to three separate massive review articles
19 years? Amateur stuff. I have a pair of boxers that have been in the rotation for 32 years.
I quite like the "No shit, Sherlock"-ness of the two signs at the entrance to the road.
Lower Street, Islip, on my walk today.
A name misspelled most divertingly by the copyist of the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book.

That is fair. It still makes me twitch when he does it. Which is why he does it, of course. What are friends for if not uncomfortably interrogating one's cultural paradigms via their own background assumptions disguised as 'banter'?
A friend from SK quite persistently calls me a WASP, no matter how much I explain that this is not a label that makes sense for a UK person. Or an atheist, for that matter.
Let's hope! He seems to blow whichever way the person in his ear is blowing.
Can we have the Starmer back who spoke so convincingly against Brexit when in opposition? Or is he the empty cipher obsessed with party infighting he's seemed to be since?
The time available for a reset is running down.

Originally elected for Witney as a Tory, but defected in 1999. It really didn't make Labour look good to accept such a nakedly careerist move. Chalk that up as one more name that had consistently given everyone the ick turning up in Epstein.
Parents-in-law came to visit us in Oxford from Scotland years ago. We drove them round all the henges, chocolate box villages and wolds, etc. But FiL only really got excited when we drove him across the Magic Roundabout.
Surprised how many comments assume that this person is characterising their son's eating habits fairly. People with misophonia all too often let their rage do the describing of other people's eating habits, turning innocuous things into supposed offences. I bet he just eats like all the rest of us.
This is what happens when you drink your Aperol Spritzes two at a time
No. The actual phrasing is "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

I measured my Sports Direct mug capacity at 626 ml (for Science!)
I have also had to measure the volume of my pees on quite a few occasions (for Medicine!) Never has a pee exceeded 500 ml. Mostly they're around 300 ml.
NB I have never put pee in my Sports Direct mug.
This is not the Morgan McSweeney that you think it is. Check their profile message.

Can you put in a word with the contestants, please? I'm bored of four big numbers.
In what other context would you think that wiping it off with a bit of paper was a suitable response to getting poo on you?
An action best performed with a fanfrnoch.

I first read this essay ~20 years ago. It didn't make sense to me then; all the attributes listed are so incredibly stupid and obviously hollow. "Who would this ever appeal to?"
Well, we learned. From a world where it was so dead that I couldn't understand it to one dominated by it in 20 years.
0.7% of 800M is not 560,000, but rather 5.6M
Golden opportunity missed to use "trivially" as a tiresome flex
