Games beaten in 2026 - Game 8: Dynasty Warriors Origins (Lui Bei Path)
Incredible game, still shocked with how good it looks and how well it runs when there are so many things on screen. Will eventually need to do the Wu path.
Played on PS5

100%. I miss working in the games industry, but at the same time, I'm beyond glad that I'm out of it at this point.
I hope, one day, it gets back to semi-normality, but I don't see that happening any time soon, sadly.
On a brighter note, enjoy your time out and some good stew! :D
Games beaten in 2026 - Game 7: Ape Escape
I remember playing a LOT of Ape Escape when I was younger, and I stand by the fact that this franchise needs to come back.
Weird, creative Sony > Third-person, Cinematic adventure Sony
Terrorcoaster still sucks, though.
Played on PS1
Because why revitalize Ape Escape and bring the joy and whimsy to a new generation via a Bluepoint remaster that would likely take them little to no time to make happen, when you can put out another Last of Us Remaster. It's been like... 2 years since it was remastered, we need another remaster.
Games beaten in 2026 - Game 6: Saints Row (2022)
I went into this game fully expecting to hate it, but genuinely had a good time with it. Solid 7/10, turn your brain off fun. The Dustmoot line was absolutely fantastic, however. Good fun if found cheap.
Played on PS5
Sorry for the back-to-back quote tweets, but I don't know how much this was ever publicized.
Escapist's new owners never updated the staff page after the sale. The pre-sale writers were unceremoniously cut, and many never actually contacted or formally separated. Don't trust Escapist's staff page.
Honestly, same boat here. First things first - incredibly proud of you for admitting something was "wrong" and finding a way to help yourself out of a hole. It takes a strong person to do that.
I'm in the same boat here, and life is much better for it.
Games beaten in 2026 - Game 5: Final Fantasy VI
Major thanks to @mattvat.bsky.social for hooking me up with this one MONTHS ago.
One of the greatest JRPG experiences I've ever had, moving together for a harrowing tale of loss, and what gives us reason to keep moving forward.

Games beaten in 2026 - Game 4: Metal Gear Solid
Every February 5th, I play through Metal Gear Solid from front to back in memory of my cousin Jeff. It's been 16 years since he's been gone, and his favorite game is now mine.
@thedavidhayter.bsky.social, I can't thank you enough

Absolutely BONKERS game that had me reliving the glory days of 2016 all over again.
Roughly 3 hours long, but plenty of challenges available for completionists. Great time.
Played on: PC/ROG Ally X
Why does my copy of Elden Ring look so weird, man?
I am appalled and shocked to see that NOBODY has created a mod that replaces the Karolos Glintstone Crown with the Burger King Mascot head.
Like, genuinely SHOCKED. Is this the thing that is going to lead me into learning how to mod games?
... Sadly, it could be???
We need CONTENT, man. EVERYWHERE YOU GO, YOU MUST WATCH CONTENT.
Games Beaten in 2026 - Game 2: Unaccessible
While the developer may be Australian, they could name this "Health Insurance USA Simulator", and they wouldn't be off the mark at all. Hilarious and fun, it's an experience that I loved every minute of

Excellent writing, fantastic game through and through. The House Always Wins for my first ending, planning on playing through this one again in the future. Will be purchasing DLC and playing that soon.
Played on: Xbox Series X
SAME, MAN. I need to find a way to play this again. The skateboarding game was rad, but I'll always love the rock throwing one.
Inverse's Gaming section is being shut down as the company "divests" from gaming content. I'm out of a job along with my wonderful co-writers. I've put my heart and soul into this job for four years. Gonna need to take time to process, but I'm now completely open for work - and boy do I need it.
MY BROTHER IN CHRIST, YOU HAVE A GBA AS YOUR HEADER
KEEP THE ADVANCE ALIVE, AND BECOME A GOD(Si)
Post a game you remember playing that nobody else probably remembers
If they have a DSi, I would strongly suggest that! For... reasons π΄ββ οΈ
Plus, they just look slick as hell
In a year full of giant game releases, Promise Mascot Agency by @kaizengameworks.com still takes home my personal GOTY crown. @alphachromeyayo.com absolutely slammed down the best soundtrack of the year, and I need everybody to play this game without second-guessing it bit.ly/4qcbFvp
I had a VHS copy of this when I was little, and I'm pretty sure I watched it enough that it wouldn't work again if I wanted it to.
BAABBBBBIITTTTTTTTTT has echoed in the back of my brain for roughly 33 years now
PLEASE DO, HAHAHAH. It would be an HONOR and a half.
The Soundtrack, Composed by Alpha Chrome Yayo and Ryo Koike, Is Beyond Words Passionate folks are willing to do whatever they can to see a passion project proceed. Outside of the fantastic characters and wonderful visuals, one particular part of Promise Mascot Agency stands out from every other game I played in 2025. The soundtrack. Have you realized that a lot of game music seems rather⦠forgettable nowadays? Back in the early days of gaming, you could find a song that would be stuck in your brain for years, seemingly never leaving
"the soundtrack absolutely fucks" π
Everything about this piece rules, but damn if that isn't an awesome sentence to read π
