Can't wait to go out to see how Kibilo is doing and get more songs. So many human made sounds was last time and I need more song so I dont lose much recording to noisy cars and planes. I also heard 2nd blackbird activate. Interested to see his song pattern!

Unique parts on Kibilo in 2026! When I hear these ones, I know ASAP it is the same bird! This is how I am able to ID each blackbird by a song, I put aside unique parts and remember them :). When I hear bird do IRL specific amount of em, its same one! #birds #Commonblackbirds #FlackoWeasel

Met my friend again! I visit daily to see how he is doing up until May 1st! He was much louder today and sung longer too. Still not 100% loud. Bunch of revisits to catch all his song journey! I still think this guy is Kibilo, some sounds are very specific! #birds #FlackoWeasel #commonblackbird

I will go daily visiting them until May 1st so get as many blackbirds as I can :)

The furry tufts I self made as I needed wind shields. I made these for each on my Tascam as well and it has saved MANy recordings. Wind 5m/s and having the furry thing on saved a recording! I remember I rushed home and sewed 2 of them ASAP when I realised wind was stronger. #birds #FlackoWeasel

Gorillapods are HUGE help omg! (pic 3) They have saved SO many recordings, its like a hand what can grab. I can add my recorder to trees, bushes, thinner brances etc. Many bird recordings this little tool has helped! When bird sings more ground level, I use my LEGO ramp #birds

This is how I record my birds! I self built this LEGO ramp around my Tascam to be able to move it diagonally, up, front etc! Has been SOO helpful! The long stick is just extension to extend Clippy closer to the bird when the ramp is on the ground. 2nd pic I used foam ramps back then. part1 #birds

Looks like its not accidental at all! This "barbie girl" melody is in the blackbird song pattern, he uses it often! OMG so happy I have finally found my own "Barbie thrush!" Daily visiting him!

EDIT: It's not accidental! I noticed when I listened my audio through, he did it quite often so it is something he likes to do! I did not hear the melody back then but now I did and spotted it alot. I recognized him singing yesterday too because of that melody, but he didn't sing much :C.

but when it happens, I have infinity dopamine rush! Doot-doot was my fav in 2024 because of his unique song! These are my fav types to record, I call them "magical" :). They have different lyrics than classical ones and stand out ASAP

Them and blyth's reed warblers are quite brave birds at night. Most of the time I get near them and they still sing after I retrieve my recorder 1h later :). Maybe 2 birds out of 60 I have recorded flew away from me. I love the rare versions who's songs are VERY unique! I don't get these often here

I heard the blackbird again and only part i heard vividly was the "I'm a barbie girl" melody, but when I tried to reach him, he became quiet. Quite bummed :C. I hope he is back tomorrow and I can meet him again. I heard more blackbirds were making sounds! #birds #FlackoWeasel #commonblackbird

Most sounds arent used during singing, so when they sparkle, I hear many one off sounds and variants I don't hear any other time but that. Each new blackbird who starts to sing will sparkle! #birds

BB always seem to sparkle VERY early during singing season. I haven't found info why it is so. Being obsessed at blackbirds I have noticed this behavior each year since 2023! And its ALWAYS when the breeding season is about to start. They make MANy bizarre NES like sounds #birds #FlackoWeasel

This is what I call a blackbird sparkling - the sparkly glittery sounds they sometimes do one after another. It reminds me Mega Drive sound test where you went through each sound of a game, sometimes repeating one part many times. #Commonblackbird #birds #FlackoWeasel

When I record many individuals, each one having their own song pattern, you can hear so many different variants of a song and unique parts!. It gives me infinity happiness loop - Record blackbird - be amazed - want more - record bird - dopamine - record more blackbird and so on #birds #FlackoWeasel

I hope my tascam audio is not that ass. I didn't expect him to sing so was honestly unprepared. Like pancake, first one always fucks up and other ones come better. As I know they start to sing, I know to carry my tripod along!

That "Vüüüi VüüüI" was ONLY done by Kibilo in 2025, no other blackbird I recorded did THAT part. It was one of a kind part on him. So hearing THAT on this bird and "kibilo kibilo" and "Viiilülülü" makes me 98% sure its same bird!

I had to do some combo recording as I was holding my parabola too and I didn't expect him to sing that soon! This is 4 days EARLIER than 2025! I am SO excited and wanna revisit him to make sure it is Kibilo from 2025! When he did "Vüüüi vüüüI" bouncy part, my jaw dropped. #FlackoWeasel #birds

Same bird, sparkling. I call this behavior so because usually bb song consists of flute like parts and lots of glittery sparkle parts. At the VERY beginning of singing season, they sometimes go into the Mega Drive soundtest mode, where they go through their sparkles and see what fits and works lol.
