Let's call this #ClimateGate
"A federal judge on Friday ruled the Energy Department violated the law when Secretary Chris Wright handpicked five researchers who reject the scientific consensus on climate change to work in secret on a sweeping government report on global warming."
Gift link.
January of 1933 was the year Adolph Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. Over the next six months, he did many of the same things Trump is doing, but essentially unopposed. In 2025, Americans resolve is stronger as is our Constitution. That makes all the difference! Republicans will fail!
This is a great idea.
If this picture was of Obama, you know @FoxNews would do three weeks solid on why the flag was on the ground.
At least three weeks
Yeah, I wasn't clear, I now realize. What I meant was, those who were in on shifting to the right at the beginning, but who pulled back early, can be appreciated in a more positive light than those who stuck through Trump 1.0 and are still MAGA in Trump 2.0.
And, they also can not be trusted (at this point), and their transgression against society can not be forgotten or forgiven.
Right-wing media have focused their ire on young women, who voted overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates last week.
π―. It wasn't about just the ACA subsidesβit was about those and β¦ everything else.
@TheRickWilson : "The Republicans cannot believe their luck. They get to end the shutdown, blame it on Democrats, and go back to the MAGA base and say, βWe killed Obamacare at last!β" https://open.substack.com/pub/therickwilson/p/schumer-and-the-hateful-eight-betray?r=2lckc&utm_medium=ios

We used to talk about a War on Hunger. Now we have a War on the Hungry.
Big takeaway #2 (for future reference): Mamdani is now on the list that includes Hillary Clinton, Ilhan Omar, Nancy Pelosi, and AOC. The GOP's bogymen.
(Thoughts adapted from current POS, "Revenge of the Libs.")
The big takeaway #1: Most of the Dem victories yesterday involved YOUNGER PEOPLE KICKING BOOMER ASS.
"Mamdani won 9% of 2024 Trump voters ... these NYC people pulled the lever for Trump one year ago, and yesterday, they pulled it for an immigrant Democratic Socialist mayor."

None of it is a distraction. Stop saying it is a distraction. Stop throwing one group or another under the bus because of your own shifting outrage. Let the outrage shift but don't take ANYTHING off the table.
Multiple airports around the country said they wonβt display a video in which DHS Sec. Kristi Noem blames Democrats for the government shutdown and related travel delays.
Two groups are calling for new leadership at HHS after Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s actions on substance abuse treatment and mental health medications, among other issues.

The American people know full well that this is Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans' government shutdown, and say so by a 13-point margin. h/t @navigatorsurvey.bsky.social
Listening to #SistersinLaw and it occurs to me that the conversation about Trump's enemies tends to speak of them as "left-leaning." That is correct, but "centrists" are just as much in the cross-hairs of Trump and his cronies. Maybe "People in America" is a better term.
Yes! What would you have them say?
