If only....
Unpopular opinion: AI agents are finally a way for Big Tech to compensate for their abominable productivity level.
I will believe Microsoft has moved to a full agent based coding style with insane claimed productivity if they fix .NET Hot Reload and dotnet watch overnight.
They killed 180 children and their teachers in a double-tap strike on a school. The girls were 7 to 12 years old.
No idea, not my project π€·ββοΈ. It's built by a MAUI team member. I think it's an ideal project for letting agents run and fix the gazillion small issues covering all the subtle differences between native / web over its supported platforms.

I use AI prompts more in daily tasks and speeds up development for existing projects. Vibe coding only for new projects, though
A friend of mine vibe coded a business app with fairly clean scope, I'm invited to take a look at the results soon and have been asked for "support" π±.
2026: party like its 1999 with Microsoft Access apps - read: vibe coded - apps by clever end users - all over the place entrenched in businesses? Catastrophe in the making or blessing?

What an absolute monumental fuck up is the "new" Outlook. Sending e-mails fails, searching returns partial results. Sorting doesn't work.
You got one job!
For dotnet watch at least, it used to crash on me a lot. Now itβs less
Yes I told him that right away already, I know you look at that. Iβve logged issues before in SDK repo with procdumps
My colleague waa ahead of me and hit this almost instantaneously:
βSystem.Runtime.CompilerServices.HotReloadException: 'Attempted to invoke a deleted lambda or local function implementation. This can happen when lambda or local function is deleted while the application is running.'β
Apart from some MAUI work more or less fulltime since 3.2. Hosted WebAssembly, mix of SSR and InteractiveWebAssembly. Debug has regressed quite significantly since 10 TBH, loading all debug symbols and attaching to WebAssembly client seems a lot slower.

Gonna download it right away. Better Hot Reload / dotnet wach is my number one issue working with Blazor. And faster debug startup. Razor editor got pretty good in 2-3 years. Your grunting paid off π
Hot Reload fixes are most welcome π
Install VS2026 18.3 (released today) if you edit Razor files or use .NET Hot Reload. We have some huge improvements added in this release. Download link visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/
This looks like a really useful tool for .NET MAUI developers, tooling issues are one of the biggest issues: github.com/Redth/MAUI.S...

Playing around with this Blazor Dev tool and it's really nicely put together, see also the Reddit post:

Het probleem is er maar we zijn wel erg bezig met elkaar om het op de juiste manier te erkennen en te benoemen ipv het aanpakken.
