It wouldn't be the first time Tusk clashes with a president: twenty years ago he went head-to-head with then-President Lech Kaczyลski about who represents Poland in Brussels, among others.
Duda has eschewed these escalations somewhat, but will Nawrocki be looking for a fight?
A crucial role will be played by the weakened rule of law in Poland. The broken, 'dualist' legal system may be abused to create chaos and confusion about who is right and wrong.
Nawrocki's voice in Europe will be much closer aligned to Trump and Orbรกn than has been the case so far. He has also presented himself as a 'street fighter' not afraid of confrontation with the Tusk government, both domestically and internationally.
The results are widely seen as a failure of the Tusk government to show meaningful policy results. Especially the young electorate, with a high turnout, seems to have bluntly rejected the government coalition. The Gen Z vote may have been crucial in this election.

Despite razor-thin margin in the polls, Nawrocki's victory surprises many and will have massive repercussions in Poland and Europe in the years to come.

If the results remain this close, it is possible they will be challenged by whoever the loser will be, which may extend this campaign into extra time.
This means we simply do not know yet who has won the Presidential Elections, and proclaiming victory now is (in my opinion) irresponsible by the Trzaskowski campaign. Nawrocki has not conceded yet.
While the exit polls show a marginal lead (0,6%) for Trzaskowski, we should not treat them as final results yet.
Past elections show the right tends to overperform compared to the exit polls. In 2020, Trzaskowski lost 0,6% and in 2023, PiS gained 1,9% between the exit polls and the final results.

High turnout was generally expected to benefit Trzaskowski; but the geographic spread of the turnout increase muddles that picture, as it's most pronounced in smaller municipalities, in both PO- and PiS-favouring areas.
