Wolfgang Puck cooks his Oscar after-party menu while wearing a well-made pair of tights.

I’ve just finished S3. Awful awful stuff. If they dare bring it back for a 4th time around…

2 episodes to go. But wow, it’s been a slog.

Invasion (Apple TV)

Will something please just happen! Absolutely crawled through S3 and I am on the verge of giving up.

Sadly I think this is reflective of a much wider apathy towards news, events, words, actions etc in a society where, unless it affects someone directly, people are happy/able to look the other way. Many know right from wrong and will be willing to state so, however ease/comfort often wins out.

Something to be said about our defensive line as well. I’m not saying β€˜let’s get rid’, but it’s just a concession we have to make when he plays. If we want to control games more frequently, I think we’ll need a higher line & (obviously) a better midfield. Horses for courses though. Hope he stays.

Yeah fair. And just to be clear, I wasn’t suggesting you were saying β€˜just subtract the runs’, more reacting to some takes I’d seen. The drop hurt us, but we probably did well to reach the semis. Brook’s ton an outlier to get us there with both openers barely firing all tournament. Small margins.

On the surface yes, but that assumes the whole game plays out exactly the same apart from that one moment.

If Samson goes on 15, the game unfolds differently, tactics, risks, run rate etc. Seeing many just subtracting 74 runs and claiming β€˜England would have won if…’.

Whether England win this or not, I’m just pleased they’ve turned up. Even your staunchest England fan didn’t really think we’d beat India in India in a semi-final but we’ve got a lot closer than I expected at the innings break. Fine margins in T20 and it looks like catches will once again be key.

That’s the thing. Like I said on Tuesday, I’d have taken a point before kick off. But having gone behind to 10 men and immediately getting back in it, the expectancy shifted. A point would have still been frustrating considering the circumstances, but whatever you do, don’t lose it from there!

Last thing from me on last night.

As we know, much of our issues aren’t down to talent but mentality.

I would argue that sitting them down & showing a split screen of the City/Arsenal games with last night, focusing on running, closing down, harrying etc would have more impact than anything.

Spot on. The question I keep coming back to though is why? From my knowledge, there was no real animosity during his playing days. I mean, he even came out of retirement & returned. Was he on the coaching staff at some point & holds some sort of grudge around that at all? It can’t be money, surely?

Found it odd last night how often Lammens looked for Cunha instead of Sesko. I get the Tripper height difference but it just didn’t seem to be working. Thought a switch between Sesko and Cunha could have paid off and kept us up the pitch a bit more frequently.

Perfectly put by Henry winter. Just ridiculous non stop from legends of the club! Wonder how many times he had something ready to put out over the last few weeks but had to delete it cause we hadn’t lost

Well that’s bloody brilliant news. You must be very proud.

Yep. Very true. Guess a good sign is that we haven’t felt like this for quite a while! Must be doing something right.

If anyone’s got some wise words to share, a sense of perspective, some positivity…I’m all ears. My rational mind tells me it’s not all doom and gloom but I’m just not feeling very rational this morning.

05.03.2026 08:07 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 5 πŸ“Œ 0

Still absolutely gutted about that. The manner of our performance, the game situation, the kind results elsewhere and the eventual defeat is just so infuriating.

Just watched the game as was out tonight. Really wish I hadn’t have bothered.

Keeping everything crossed for a win obviously but with Wolves remembering how to play football tonight and Villa and Chelsea taking points off each other tomorrow, I think I’d probably take a point given our recent record at St.James’s Park.

Law of averages says a Gomez had to have some say in deciding this match.

It’s games like today when we’ll really miss Bruno once he’s gone. The goal and assist were huge, but so were the smaller things. A sharp turn here, a feint there, opening the pitch and keeping the ball under pressure. We don’t win today without him. Appreciate him while we can.

01.03.2026 20:26 πŸ‘ 30 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 6 πŸ“Œ 0

Yep, the angle from behind the goal really does it justice.

01.03.2026 12:20 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Bicycle kicks however, are most certainly not naff. Some goal that!

01.03.2026 12:12 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Adding Rangers walking out to β€˜Simply the Best’ to the list of β€˜naff things in football’.

Really uncharacteristic comments from a man who reordered the list of penalty takers to ensure he went last in a CL final penalty shootout in order to be the hero (and missed), lifted the CL trophy in full kit after not playing and manufactured a guard of honour after 26 minutes of his final game.

26.02.2026 11:47 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 1

He was probably asked about Carrick last night but instead of most who’d go with…

β€˜no need to make a decision just yet, let’s see in a month or so’

he’s nailed his colours to alternatives & this β€˜best in class’ nonsense.

If Carrick gets it and it goes wrong = I told you so.

Goes right = great!

Yep. Remember him leaving one on Zirkzee at Old Trafford to. Completely off the ball as if he’s some 1970s no-nonsense defender. Guy’s a clown and from the Dyche school of football. The goal couldn’t have shown him up more last night. Bloody beautiful!

Very limited player. Thinks he’s some kind of hard nut but takes cheap shots at players all the time.
