Reform on 13% of the registered vote seems about right and this is with all the major media and parties painting them as THE alternative
As always, far-right support is limited and its mainstreaming comes from the mainstream elite who try to use it as a distraction from their failures
Cause. Effect.
Im not sure this is true. The Patriots were scaled of English common law granting slaves rights. They wanted to genocide Natives that Parliament sought to protect and wealthy land owners saw an opportunity to usurp Parliament and avoid very minimal taxes levied rightly for services.
I do not think we understood fascism and its tools appropriately enough to respond. Even for myself, age 18-25 the "British" antifascist myths were based in our history of free debate and so on. I was ill-equipped to understand fascism or how it views and uses language, "reason", myth and power
If there are still people to reflect on what is happening now in a 100 years, they will have a damning view of the easy ride the far right was given by the mainstream elite
Incredible how the institutions we were told would protect us from fascism did not simply crumble but opened the gates
Anyone in a position of power and able to shape the agenda, even a little, should seriously want to think about whether their contribution to society will be seen as the equivalent of the Weimar Republic
History doesn't repeat itself but that doesn't mean lessons shouldn't be learnt
nothing
My DSL is knowing which secret combination of docker compose files to apply
I don't think there's ever complete agreement within a party. It's more about the primary policies, surely? And IMO opposing the rise of fascism takes precedence over most other disagreements atm.
Imagine if Burnham ran as the Green MP and WON the seat against Reform!
He should look to @greenparty.org.uk @zackpolanski.bsky.social
If today you're thinking, I want a party that's:
- rising in the polls
- focused on tackling the cost of living
- and genuinely democratic

Bloody hell Gorton voting Reform, what a joke. Used to live around there in my early 20's. Can't imagine Farage cares a bit for the issues in the area.
I've been saying this for a year, and the point is to use the word before it's too late because it conveys the moral urgency.
Rather than it being "our support", you might mean that you don't see the same Tyrants' and oligarchs' hands pulling the strings to enrich themselves and serve their self-interest in both cases.
If you donβt see the connection between our support for the murders of civilians in Gaza and for the pogroms in the occupied territories and Minneapolis, you are blind.
This witness to Alex Pretti's murder not only refutes the governmen't story, but says she is afraid to go home because federal agents might arrest her. This is what it feels like to live under state terror.

Looks interesting -- are they going to do editions for different geographical regions laws origins?
If this is a conceptual problem I can't see how Science can answer it. Is there some Scientific theory in which "fate" is operationalised as a term? If not, this seems like inappropriate religious storytelling being branded as Science. -- Same criticisms of Sapolsky.
The same body that has protected us from the repealing of many EU laws that protect the climate, food hygiene and uphold human rights for asylum seekers and so on. If you were to tally decisions they've made you think are good and compare that to bad, you may be surprised.
Every poll these days is like:
- Mad Nazi Pedophile King: 39%
- The Democrats: 42%
We deserve a politics of care.
Creating sexualized images of children is very bad. Creating nonconsensual sexualized images of adults is also very bad. Eliminating just the use on children will not fix the problem.
The Christian fundamentalists and evangelicals aligning with ICE are βprying Christianity further and further away from the ethic and teachings of Jesus,β Peter Wehner argues.
Reform UK support is highest among Leave voters, those with lower levels of education, and those from routine and manual occupations, while peaking among those in their 60s Greens now lead among the under 30s, including holding a 37% vote share among 18-24 year olds
This is key if we want to think of the "working class" and "the people" in a more political way
Having a "lower level of education" and being in "manual or routine occupation" in your 60s could well mean you own a house, have a good pension etc
Young people on the other hand...
Reform losing. Green Party gaining. Country winning.

Greenlandic politician and former MP Tillie Martinussen: βWe do not want to be rich like [USians]. Look how greedy they are, even trying to invade their friends. We would not sell ourselves.β

Loved every minute of the Yorkshire tour - thanks to everyone who showed up this weekend!
And love this picture that Anna, age 7, gave me as I was leaving π
