boilerplate poli-sci brain had me saying "so the president isn't in charge of the economy" all my adult life until boom, yeah, he just pressed the bad economy button. he pressed it on purpose. he loved pressing it. he's holding the button down.

Basically all of the bad economic news this term is because the president deliberately decided to do something moronic. He is much more personally responsible for this than most presidents are for the downturns in their administration.

I always thought the Pod Save America guys were mediocrities who - like a lot of mediocrities - clung to Obama's coattails, but now I think they're fucking idiots.
