boilerplate poli-sci brain had me saying "so the president isn't in charge of the economy" all my adult life until boom, yeah, he just pressed the bad economy button. he pressed it on purpose. he loved pressing it. he's holding the button down.

Basically all of the bad economic news this term is because the president deliberately decided to do something moronic. He is much more personally responsible for this than most presidents are for the downturns in their administration.
I always thought the Pod Save America guys were mediocrities who - like a lot of mediocrities - clung to Obama's coattails, but now I think they're fucking idiots.
Or selling out to genociders for cheap oil and technology/military contracts
All they do is express concerns and "remind" everyone about international law but there are also zero consequences if a country breaks itπ
Israel's System of Segregated Roads in the Occupied Palestinian Territories
How dare you call this segregation btw
Post See new posts ConversationSΓ©amus Malekafzali @Seamus_Malek Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid says that Israel should depopulate and destroy every village in southern Lebanon, with the Yellow Line in Gaza as the model, and that "it may not be pleasant to scrape off two or three Lebanese villages, but they brought this on themselves." 0:29 / 0:45 2:44 PM Β· Mar 5, 2026 Β· 126.6K Views
Well the good news is that the Israeli opposition isn't actually all that crazy right.
Picture unrelated btw
Best we Europeans can do is "expressing concerns"
Learned helplessness! That was the phrase I was looking for
Theyβve enjoyed so much being dependent on US defense that they cannot comprehend actually doing anything for themselves (which is why theyβre so dependent on Ukraine closing the skies for them)
Europe seems to be a comprehensively Do nothing continent sans Sanchez and Zelenskyy
thatβd be so fun, yes !!
Every single person in history who apes for a regime goes through this thought process: they, the submissive brute, love us and our domineering but just benevolent enough way. That other regime though? Too domineering.
I am sure the gay Arab in occupied Palestine, occupied Lebanon and occupied Syria love their Jewish military dictatorship so much
Yeah it's somehow still underrated but Biden (and Harris by extension because she was operating under the thesis of no daylight) essentially did everything possible to avoid clamping down on Israel against the trendline of their own party's base and the response from the pro-Israel lobby was scorn.
This is the absolute bare minimum and it hasn't happened because the UKG like almost every other Western government is virulently anti Palestinian
PSOE asks the brave question "what if we do the popular thing and oppose the world historic unpopular president of the United States and his world historic unpopular war"
Governor Newsom's recent comments about Israel were confusing and problematic at a critical moment, as the United States, Israel, and their regional partners confront significant threats from the Iranian regime. If the Governor intended to express concern about proposals to annex parts of the West Bank, that debate requires precision. Invoking the term "apartheid" is wrong and inflammatory, does not reflect the complex realities on the ground, and only risks inflaming tensions.
The future of the Democratic Party will be centrist Democrats saying factually true things (and in fact understating them) and the collective pro Israel lobby freaking the fuck out
*laughs in Ukrainian*
AOC: This is about actual crimes happening in front of us. This is about shredding the Constitution and plunging us into war. This is about taking crypto money and money launderingβ¦ So if youβre asking me if Iβd support impeachment, I do
I know youβre joking but I fear this would be a genuine response from the UberEats crowd
Tbh I stopped sympathizing with (most, not all) complaints about not being able to cook after I learned how to cook as a very visually impaired person
To quote the greatest Pixar movie Ratatouille: Anyone can cook!
They want to rule a region of rubble and the US is, at best, perfectly fine with this albeit not motivated by it and at worst is actively in agreement.
Summarising the Israeli governmentβs position, Citrinowicz said: βIf we can have a coup, great. If we can have people on the streets, great. If we can have a civil war, great. Israel couldnβt care less about the futureβ.β.β. [or] the stability of Iran. βThat is a point of difference between us and the US. I think [Washington is] are more concerned about nation-building and threats to their regional partners,β he added.
okay but you get that Iran has 93 million people, right
Unfortunately I'm being proven right
This bill removes nutrition requirements for school lunches, but makes ivermectin OTC, lol. MAHA is so fucking dumb.
I am perfectly content to admit I am sceptical of the position that Iran flinging shaheds at countries that literally are not the two countries that attacked it is part of a legitimate act of self-defence.
I just wouldn't endorse the guy with the nazi tattoo and the half-assed, terrible cover job over it that I swear to god looks like a temporary but people have told me it isn't but also if you were a a tattoo artist wouldn't you like move your pen the extra centimeter and actually yknow cover it
As expected the far right is not actually against war if theyβre allowed to brutalize brown people at home.
