This weekend is EIGHT WEEKS before our last frost date!!!
Time to start these plants indoors:
-Eggplant
-kohlrabi (and other brassicas)
-lettuce
-celery
-onions
-peppers (hot)
-Swiss chard
-gourds
It’s 3°F (-16°C) and I’m going outside for an hour to do farm chores. Whooo! Here I go!

I had 7 bags of blackberries in the freezer. This is a lot of blackberries. Going to thaw them on the stove, then send them through the food mill, then make jam.

Cat TV is hopping today! I saw two bluebirds, a downy woodpecker, a cardinal, a house finch, a blue jay, and a dark eyed junco all at the same time.

Eight quart jars filled with tomato sauce
I was able to make 8 quarts of tomato sauce from the tomatoes stored in our failing deep freezer. Phew. Thank goodness for extended warranties. New freezer arrives on Saturday!
