Technology enthusiast, Nerd, likes to build weird stuff, energy transition, not into crypto so don’t ask, he/him, Twitter refuge. I’m not here for followers. I’m searching for Nerdvana. St Albert, Alberta, Canada

From the DM’s…
Looks like we’ve reached the “Danielle Smith was sent by god” part of Alberta politics…
Our only question is who is so breathlessly telling the crowd that Smith is “the greatest premier this nation has ever known”…
And to which nation they refer.

Possibly, but I think you may be assigning more strategic thinking to the UCP than they are capable of.
Poilievre said this in his recent interview with Paul Wells, and received *zero* pushback.
It sure would be nice if the folks interviewing him had some modicum of interest (and expertise) in the details around energy markets and policy.
(You'll note Poilievre is *still* blaming Canada here)
Fake. Fact. The word fake becomes fact on rotating wooden cubes.

Oh fun!
We’ve reached the “thinly veiled threats to judges” part of the process!

I asked IRCC about their new media policy requiring journalists to register and receive approval from the government in order to get questions answered
They told me if Jeremy Appel had a problem with their rules deeming him not to be a "bona fide" journalist, he should talk to them directly himself
And so I did. I asked how long this policy has been in place and whether it applies across government. Here’s what they said.
This is the voting base of the UCP govt. There’s no interest in actual democracy, separation of powers, or due process. They want white christofacism. Anyone who still votes UCP in my province needs to explain to me why they stand with facists. Fukk these guys & their supporters.

Going on a professional development field trip to a country engaged in an active genocide is certainly a choice.
🧵 Breaking: Alberta government embarrasses itself again
Today, the Centre of Recovery Excellence (CoRE) published a study. Unfortunately, last month I published two stories showing how their data are junk.
Let's take a look. 1/
This Thursday, the Canadian Health Coalition, Friends of Medicare, and the Council of Canadians are co-hosting this public webinar on Alberta's Bill 11 featuring Andrew Longhurst.
Albertans who apparently responded to the NP’s “poll” might be oblivious to the fact that the NP is majority owned and controlled by a US hedge fund with direct ties to the Republican Party, the ones actively trying to undermine Canadian sovereignty and democracy.

For clarity - there are multiple graphic novel versions of 1984 (TIL!) Calgary Board of Education and EPSB removed a different version (this one) www.amazon.ca/George-Orwel... But it's unclear from Rocky View Schools' list which version they removed. #AbEd
Just stopped by the public library to pick up the removed books that I was able to request from nearby branches. #AbLeg #AbEd
Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted by academics suggesting that AI can do the reading and writing for you. At a certain point, what you're bragging about is fraud. And in a broader sense, what you're contributing to is the erosion of knowledge and the destruction of trust in academic publishing.
My latest newsletter: the deadline for a deal between Ottawa and Alberta on industrial carbon pricing is just weeks away. The oil and gas companies and their political proxies are already trying to tilt the table in their direction — and fudge the facts.

It’s easy. Like this: 😑
That said, I’m not romantic about anything really, so maybe I’m not the best person to ask that question.
Jason Kenney: Great ad!!! 🔥 Looks like the CAF has decided to end the disastrous branding as a Trudeau era DEI project, and focus on recruiting Canadian patriots who want to be warriors defending our country! 🇨🇦 💪🏼 More of this please! Quoting Canadian Armed Forces: Looks like a cutscene. Feels like a calling. This is where strength and determination meet discipline and action. This is the CAF. This is what it looks like when a country shows up. Learn more and apply now: Video clip below.
Per Jason Kenney, a former defence minister, only straight white men can defend the country. Everything else is DEI.
“Neither side seems to prioritize the long-term success of this province, nor the financial stability of the current economy. “
I dunno man, Nenshi is the only one I hear who talks about business wanting stability and predictability, and avoids chaos.
I’m an ideologue? And here I was just following peer reviewed evidence.
Good words of warning here. AI models are generally designed to read and incorporate (and, in a sense, believe) virtually everything they find online, with very few guardrails. The information can get divorced from its original source, context, & rebuttals or retractions. That's a really big problem

I love the phenomenon of a word crossing languages back and forth to achieve a different meaning.
What books did Alberta schools *actually* pull off the shelves in response to a provincial order? It took a lot of work to find out. We still don't have a complete picture. And some schools are still pulling material.
Free speech advocates say it's ban unmatched in Canadian history. #AbLeg By me.
"UCP received dozens of donations in 2025, totaling approximately $90,000, from PR firms, consultant lobbyists and corporations that were also actively lobbying the Alberta government"
Albertans will get exactly what they pay for!
