toby fox wont release chapter 3 instead hes gonna release a game called undertale: sans. its set after the events of eartbound but hust before the events of undertale. this will be a 3d fps immersive sim shooter where you solve physics puzzles using a gravity power you get at the start of the game. torial will act as your man in the sky, so to speak, offering assistance from afar while you as sans are doing all the boots on the ground action. your mission is to save papyrus from the royal guard forces and keep them from learning the secrets of monster civilization so that the whole underground doesnt get taken over by asgore. they end the game by ret-conning the death of papyrus at the end of chapter 2 because they understood that his death locks the timeline into an unsatisfactory doom.
