A feral pigeon is a common, medium-sized bird often found in urban areas, typically measuring about 30–35 cm (12-14 inches) in length. They have a plump, rounded body, a small head, and short legs. Their feathers are often a mix of slate grey, white, and black, with a distinctive iridescent sheen of purple and green around the neck, particularly visible in direct sunlight. They have small eyes, often with orange or yellow irises.
