This floppy is like the TARDIS. It might look like a normal 1.2mb floppy, but apparently it has 4 gigs of bad sectors on it!

Oof, damn. I completely forgot that, as a professional writer, you actually *have* to worry about people mentioning ideas in terms of copyright/attribution/all-that-jazz.

Sorry.

Depending on the situation when I invoke anthropomorphic canines (…werewolves count as anthros right?) I go with whichever is funnier:

1. Everyone around them panicking while they're completely fine.

2. Or, "Mmm, tasty, tasty chocolate… Oh huh, my heart just stopped." *thud!*

If only because submarines are considered boats, not ships. (Because historical reasons.)

Imagine if Spotify started selling "CDs" that didn't contain any music but just unlocked a pay gate to stream that album from their servers. People would be rightfully pissed.

So… I can make loads of money by selling people Helvetica with the serial numbers filed off?

An amusing story about a practical use of the null garbage collector - The Old New Thing The computer itself ceases to exist.

I mean they already have the known working firmware, so why rewrite it?

Also, this reminds me of this old Raymond Chen blog post:

You know they did an animated sequel-ish film for B5, right?

And this style kind of reminds me of "The Road Home."

If you see a snail crossing a path & grab its shell to move it out of the way, you might be injuring it while thinking you're helping but grabbing the shell is a problem

I'm only looking at the so-called "benefits" on the graph there. And there's literally none; so there is literally no reason to spend the money, effort, and resources on "AI."

If you add the actual negatives inherent with the technology? Yeah… do I even need to say how bad of an idea it is.

What I see when I look at that graph (and ignore the comedy that is "the singularity") is:

So AI does… literally nothing? Because I don't see any inflection points on the graph it looks like the trend line is linear.
