I saw a lot of hardcore bands open for metal core shows in the early 2000s. I vaguely recall them being on one of the bills, but honestly all that stuff sounds the same to me so I couldnβt tell you.
As a metal expert: the first one
I genuinely do not remember if Iβve seen Madball live in concert.
I donβt see the problem
The press release describes Sons of Liberty as βthe most cancelled and censored metal in history,β which I guess might be true if anybody had heard of the project outside of the poor bastards that had to watch it open for Iced Earth.
All his friends in the QAnon discord.
Convicted seditionist Jon Schaffer has brought back his most bonkers project, Sons of Liberty, having learned absolutely nothing and, in fact, doubled down on the lunacy. Ashamed to have given this traitor as much money as I did back before I knew better.
@themountaingoats.bsky.social I donβt know if youβve seen todayβs Rae the Doe comic but I think youβll appreciate it
I think the problem with black metal is that most of the time when Iβm listening to it Iβm like βwhy am I listening to this?β
Weird Al or gtfo
I stan Gorbo
And they are bad ideas.
Iβve kept Spotify all this time out of inertia/convenience despite them being objectively evil, but honestly their extremely aggressive push for video podcasts in their recommendation UI might do what Daniel Eks making a coat out of 101 Dalmatian puppies has so far failed to do.
People are surprised I havenβt heard it before, and itβs possible that I have, but Alan Jacksonβs songs basically make the same impression as beige wallpaper on me β even the big jet ski hit didnβt ring a bell when somebody played it for me recently.
Apparently it was from 30 years ago, and it was a big hit, but I still stand behind my statement.
Just heard an Alan Jackson cover of βSummertime Bluesβ in the supermarket and Iβm genuinely not sure if AI would do a worse job
And finally, the new release from Portlandβs Hoaxed checks all the βHalloween in Februaryβ boxes without falling into cheese theshfl.com/album/Death-...
Baron Rojoβs sophomore effort may be the best NWOBHM album made by a non-British band (although recorded there, funnily enough) theshfl.com/album/Volume...
Revisiting Faith No Moreβs breakthrough on vinyl helped me really appreciate how perfectly they captured lightning in a bottle (or a fish in a puddle) theshfl.com/album/The-Re...
This month for The Shfl, I decided to write about one favorite, one buried gem, and a new release Iβve been loving.
Listening to a song by forgotten Dutch band Crossfire called βMotorcyclesβ that starts with the sound of a motorcycle revving and where the chorus is βMotorcycles.β I love metal.
It does and hopefully it will.
Having a stressful one, time to unwind with this second pressing of the GOAT of Japanese heavy psych
There are people who chose to watch Kid Rock instead of that celebration of humanity
Text me if thereβs a Gojira.
Everybody shut up, Olympic curling has started
