Out March 27 a reissue of Anne Clarkβs Our Darkness, an epochal proto-house masterpiece. Itβs a singular piece of music: Clarkβs lyrics, speak of urban alienation and heartbreak, David Harrowβs production pummels the listener with hydraulic beats and gloom-laced arpeggios. anneclark.bandcamp.com

Newly recovered from early-90s Chicago tape reels, Warehouse Trax captures Windy City favourite K Alexi in 6 previously unreleased cuts that balance acid menace with soulful undertones but all rooted firmly in the lineage of Ron Hardy. A vital snapshot of Chicago house history. k-alexi.bandcamp.com
Thrilled and honored to get to bring Ken and Jimβs work to the Ann Arbor Film Fest π
perhaps cheesy but it is honestly so beautiful to me that, in under twenty four hours, every copy of castration movie anthology i sold out. a real showcase that people not only want trans cinema and love this film, but that they trust a distributor/producer as great as muscle/liz.
You donβt watch porn for the music, do you? And yet, itβs possible that you might find yourself humming an earworm from a particularly erotic or graphic sex scene, and blushing or being aroused at the same time. Dark Entries releases albums of historic homoerotic music

A definitive slice of early β90s Chicago House by a legend previously unreleased until now. 100% high octane jam! From the Warehouse Trax EP out February 27 darkentriesrecords.com/store/music/vinyl/ep/k-alexi-k-a-posse-vinyl-bundle
An incredible album. Lo-fi/minimal songs of despair and alien(!)ation by mildly depressed sci-fi nerds. I'm pretty sure the only publication that reviewed it at the time was 2000AD and that's because it's probably the only one they sent it to.
a few magazines reviewed it like Sounds and Vinyl (Dutch)
Pink background overlaid with text: "I would take the bus into New York by myself. Sometimes I would drag my girlfriends ... I just wanted someone to dance with and be there. And I would make them dress up, because they weren't goths. They played softball, but l'd be like, here, wear black and put on these fishnets." JOSH CHEON IN CONVERSATION ISSUE THREE
Pink background overlaid with text: "Familiarity breeds both comfort and contempt but, I don't know, I have seen a fair share of the world at this point and I think that wherever one lives we are all picking our poison. I have decided for better or worse, this place is home." BRONTEZ PURNELL IN CONVERSATION ISSUE THREE

In Issue Three! DJ impresario Josh Cheon (@darkentries.bsky.social) and punk polymath Brontez Purnell discuss growing up goth, San Francisco's dance parties, Dolores Park meet-cutes, archiving Patrick Cowleyβs gay porn soundtracks, and maintaining the creative drive deep into their careers.
βSpace Museumβ by Solid Space (1982) π
Reissued by Dark Entries in 2017
Cheap synths and drum machines, stripped-back layers, melodies with a pop sensibility from this short-lived British duo. Space Museum is an adventurous, seminal, and decidedly punk album that was years ahead of its time.
reflecting on another year around the sun π grateful for friends, family and a musical network that grows every day. thank you for all the support and love β€οΈ
out now: Brandy Dalton - Fallen Angel soundtrack to a trilogy of β90s BDSM films. βHis work here runs the gamut from woozy ambient textures to chuggy techno skronk, somewhere in between British Murder Boys and the Twin Peaks soundtrack.β

My favorite memory touring with Mara was in the car ride headed to Pennsylvania with @darkentries.bsky.social driving we joked about how we wanted to make Ren-Wave or Ren-Fair Wave. I don't know how to describe it: Dragon Wave, GoT Wave, but between this and my release we're getting there πͺπ
