Full panorama of the 2025 Dickens/Wellfleet LP tornado+supercell!
View is looking ESE up into the mesocyclone. The RFD clear slot is visible in the upper right, and in the distance on the bottom left you can even see a bit of the FFCB. Stationary supercell with deviant westerly tornado. Perfection!
New update on the Apulia tornado of Feb 17: with new reports and Sentinel-2 imagery clues, what we previously reported as two separate twisters are now merged into one almost-19 km long path, becoming the longest tracked tornado known in Italy in February

INCREDIBLE footage from earlier this evening from the 43 Fire just southwest of Woodward, Oklahoma!
Absolutely INSANE firewhirls in the main fire line as it very quickly advanced northeast towards Woodward!
Overnight thunderstorms (at least one was supercellular) brought hail and intense wind damage in Apulia (between Oria and Brindisi), we will have to investigate to try and understand if there was a tornado. What a way to wake up!

While I had my focus on the northern one of 2 cells near FR-BE border this evening, the southern one actually produced a tornado. @corentinaugris.bsky.social found a report of damage in Cousoire (without photos yet), and radar shows a very convincing brief TDS here.
Impressive low-level meso currently. And a bit earlier there was a CC minimum inside the hook, but since it was embedded in a large region of low CC I doubt that it was a TDS.
Still looking interesting over the French-Belgian border:
NW France is still seeing one currently
Additional low-topped supercells moved through this region
Quite a suspicious looking storm near the French-Swiss border a while ago
It's not the best time for the French radar network, with 5 radars inoperational currently (and not counting that 1 X-band close to Italy)
A radar-derived hodograph for Trappes shows strong low-level shear with decent hodograph curvature. A modelled hodograph is also shown for comparison, which seemed to overestimate shear a bit.
which is this expanding area of greenish colors in the RGB northeast of the supercell. These are likely mostly leafs, which at that time of year (20 October) fly easily.
Here is another loop focusing on the low-level mesocyclone. A pronounced couplet can be seen before and during the tornado.
A clear TDS can be seen during most of the tornado's life. It extends at least up to a bit above 1 km altitude (note that nearest neighbour interpolation for the RGB doesn't work so well with the low vertical resolution of French data). There also seems to be a debris fallout signature,
Météo-France has now provided me with the full dataset for Trappes for the Ermont IF2 tornado, which killed 1 person and injured at least 9. In this storm-following loop you can see a strong RFD surge leading up to the tornado:
ESWD - JAN 2026 - 3,494 #wx Reports
Fatalities: 29 (Avalanches: 18 | Winds: 8 | Floods/Tornadoes/Snowstorm: 1 each)

Haha, I thought I removed it 😅 Well, then it's a teaser for a post for tomorrow about the Ermont tornado.
Test

And it occurred ahead of a small surface low (with beautiful radar presentation), where shear was probably very favourable for tornadoes.
Radar at least indicates a rotating shower
Since this potential TDS is already quite enlarged at the first time it appeared, any damage might have started already closer to the first scan.
I'm curious what you will find!
The exact location is here: www.google.nl/maps/place/4.... And the previous scan showed the couplet and hook here: www.google.nl/maps/place/4...
Heel veel schade daar inderdaad. De oorzaak was daar alleen geen tornado, maar een grootschaligere stormdepressie.
