High temperature this afternoon in Lincoln was 66°F, well above the normal high of 45°F. Most of Nebraska was in the 60s. Check out the intense summer heat at 4pm off to our South with 98°F in Texas. Very warm today, forecast high 64°F and tomorrow forecast 70°F in Lincoln. But it isn't "Real Spring" yet, snow is back in our forecast for Sunday evening-Monday morning with a high Sunday of only 36°F.

Lincoln is in the middle of a five-day cold wave. Our daily high last Tuesday was 72°F and yesterday was only 21°F. Rapid warmup after Monday but apparently weekends are a problem with colder than normal again next weekend before returning to warmer than normal out thru March 8.
Yesterday's precipitation (melted snow) was 0.40" Lincoln Airport & 0.36" to 0.59" across the city. Snowfall at the airport was 6.3" & from 6.0" to 9.0" across the city. The ground is unfrozen so when this melts it will go into the dry soil. Photos: Two NDOT cameras showing today's snowy landscape.
After 7 days with daily highs in the 60s and 70s, temperatures plunged yesterday and Lincoln had a record daily snowfall of 6.3 inches. We live in a region of climate extremes! Winter is expected to stay for only a few days with a high of 55°F forecast by next Tuesday and near 70°F a week from now.
Lincoln will be near the S. edge of a swath of snow today across Neb. Snow in Lincoln forecast to begin after Noon & end late evening. A 5-day cold wave has begun with highs in the 30s thru Mon. then return to much warmer than normal Feb. 24-March 5, beginning with a high in the 60s by next Tues.
