I have always said that this discipline needs a Journal of Null Results.

I got excused from an extended trial (dealing with sexual assault) because they asked what I teach (listed professor as occupation) to which I responded - political science and women's and gender studies.

Got a professional job out of undergrad that required me to dress up and wear pantyhose. Realized I needed a job where I wouldn't have to wear pantyhose. Went back to grad school and never looked back. I don't own pantyhose any more.

My running bad joke is that it's easier to be a higher ed administrator in these times than it is to teach intro to US government

Emeril's was the first fancy restaurant that I went to as an adult and paid for myself and I have such fond memories of that experience. Glad to see they're still kicking it.

This aligns with our experience with how frequently folks misgender our pets. They always assume the cat is a girl and the dog is a boy when it's the opposite.

The other thing I see is parents get on the train but can't get off such that their kids attend colleges ranked well below what they would qualify for academically because they can say their kids are playing college sports. This is why athletic teams are huge recruiting mechanisms for D3 schools.
