Definitely these two furry friends:
I'm pretty much game to give feedback on anything, although there are some subjects in the adult category I'd shy away from (examples: child/animal abuse, rape, etc). I'm ideally suited to provide feedback on middle grade stories. #momswritersclub #amquerying #amwriting #writingcommunity
Honesty. Give it to me straight up. I'm all for feedback that will improve my work. Of course, insults aren't appreciated, but constructive criticism always is. #momswritersclub #amquerying #amwriting #writingcommunity
I was taught the "sandwich" method. State 1 thing you think needs improvement in between 2 things you like about the work. It isn't always applicable, however. Regardless, I always start with something that's working. #momswritersclub #amquerying #amwriting #writingcommunity
It's tough because the industry is so subjective! When I first started out, I had a hard time not taking everyone's advice, which was very difficult. Now, I go by vibes. If it feels right to the core of my story, I'll consider it. Otherwise, I don't. #momswritersclub #amquerying #amwriting
My fabulous critique peeps, and/or a friend who's published.
Hi friends! I'm Allison. I write middle grade in Seattle. I'm working on a new project- a futuristic, eco-adventure.
Pope Mixed Nuts VII!
Haha! I'm mixed nuts VII
Late to #questpit...
TREASURE ISLAND x YOUNG SHELDON

I am constantly getting stifled, but writing feels innate to my soul, which keeps me plugging along... #amwriting #writingcommunity #kidlit #parentwriters
Haha! Great question. I tend to write my antagonists with a little spite in mind. ;)
The entire reason I write is to reach the kids who struggle with mental health challenges and ND so that they can feel seen in kidlit #writingcommunity #amwriting #middlegrade #kidlit #parentwriters
As 2024 wraps up, I thought I'd come up with an #agent guide for Galileo Murphy's Law of Disasters... what I hope is my debut middle grade. Predicting good things to come in 2025! #writingcommunity #latetotheparty
Thanks, Elizabeth! I started querying what I hope is my debut novel this past fall. While I can't control the market, I can (AND HAVE) started writing another novel...another middle grade at that!

Do you ever find yourself completely stupefied over the spelling of a word you've spelled correctly a hundred times? For me, today, it was "ground." I typed "grownd," which seemed off, but I couldn't figure out why. Perhaps still turkey hungover?
Did you keep power? We did not...
Haha! Thank you! :)
Thank you!!
After a week of utter silence (and a rejection), I got a couple more FULL requests on my #amquerying middle grade this past week. Feeling hopeful! And now I'm trying to manifest good juju so that someone will fall in love with my story... #writingcommunity
Fantastic! Thanks, Christina!!
I hope it's good news. I feel your nerves.
I would have no idea (but if you are looking for them, I hope you find them). I don't get out of bed at 5am for anything, LOL.
Too hard to choose. However, the name of the cat in my current WIP is Gary, just because I think it's funny!
Sort of. The names of my characters often just "come" to me when I'm brainstorming story ideas. A few times, I've tried to change the names that come to me, but my characters resist! They definitely need names before I can write about them. Names hold so much character. #writingcommunity
What people call each other is SO interesting, and it gives us such insight into their relationships. They can distinguish love from friendship, show status or hierarchy, or illustrate feelings like disdain, jealously, or adoration. I love it all! #writingcommunity
I do this tooβthe same way I do with my own family and friends! Ha.
Hi friends! I'm Allison from Seattle. I write middle grade. I'm just getting started on a new project... so fun, overwhelming, and exciting!
