I get a lot of questions these days about data from BLS and other agencies. Some of this is about fears of political interference. Some of it is about the reliability of the data, especially in light of recent big revisions. In a story today, I tried to tackle both.

But it was Bad Bunny’s defiant, two-word statement at the Grammys — “ICE out” — that thrust him into the inflamed national debate over the aggressive tactics of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And his dedication of the award to immigrants who “leave their home, land, their country, to follow their dreams” stood as an implicit rebuke of the president’s anti-immigrant rhetoric.
In the way that he recently made a very public statement against ICE at the Grammys!

The weirdest thing about reading financial journalist is their love of the phrase “up and to the right”. I’m no time series expert but I guess I wasn’t worried about the “to the right” bit. Thought that was kind of non-negotiable
The Post was foolish enough to unleash a bevy of the world’s most talented multi-disciplinary journalists out there for their competition to scoop up. These are some of the most hard working and skilled people I know.

I just learned that The Post fired Marty Weil. I wasn't in the newsroom much, but when I was, he came in for his evening shifts, he would come through and say hello to literally everyone there. A really great guy, and a true sign of what The Post is giving up.
