Caloptilia falconipennella was a surprise find in utility room yesterday evening - new for me and the first live specimen for the SK10 square following a leaf mine record back in 2012 B74 VC38

The loan of a FUN pheromone lure (thanks @ruthnewby.bsky.social) resulted in a new moth for the garden, Pammene giganteana. Also first butterfly of the year in the sunshine, a Comma.

A dinky gull feeding near the road at Borve had us doing an emergency stop this morning: a fabulous adult Bonaparte's Gull giving incredible views. Only the second record for Barra and my third self-found. #birdingscotland #RareBirdsUK

A far more productive visit this morning to the River Tame between Ham Halls and Lea Marston - Hume's Warbler showing regularly high up in silver birches and calling occasionally. Also my first singing Chiffchaff of the spring and 4 Goosander (3m+1f) on the river.

White billed Diver in rock channel close in at Seaton Point this afternoon. Great birds, what a bow wave as it dived.

A quick note for birders visiting Whitemoor Haye from March. A road closure will mean you cannot drive through for a month, no access from Whittington end, part access from Arboretum end @staffsbirdnews.bsky.social

Frustratingly only heard the elusive Hume's Warbler along the River Tame at Hams Hall this morning; understand it showed after I left. My second for Warwickshire. 16 Little Egret in fields in Bodymoor Heath.
